Newegg says $112, and Outpost(frys) says $129. So yeah good find if the rebate dosent expire the day you buy it.

Hot? Warm? Guys, I found this thing for sale and It has a price and I dont know if Its good or not, hell, it may even be a really bad deal... But heres a link to it! Is it a hot deal? is it even warm? I DONT KNOW!! YOU TELL ME!!!!

Someone mind educating me on fry's adds?

There's a fry's in Chicago now ... would I find this deal there? or deals are based on region?

I love this drive and it's 5 year W ... I'd make a trip to fry's in Chicago tonight if the deal is good there too.

Thanks

deals are regional...but almost always the hard drive and the mobo+cpu combos are same and throughout all the stores.

not all stores... san diego and san marco's always seem to get screwed.

Yes, the Fry's in Downers Grove (chi area) has the deal. I also saw a deal on a retail Athlon 64 3000+ and a gigabyte KT800 board for 269 that looked pretty good.

the 74gb version is different/better. it has liquid ball bearings, so its more reliable. I duno but I heard of ppl having problems with this drive. performance or quality issues, I duno.

Absolutely no problems with my 36gig Raptor, plus it is plenty fast all by itself! The 5 year warranty is a big plus. This is a great deal and alive at the Vegas Fry's....

very hot, 10,000=fast. use it as a boot drive or something. sata is kinda hard to use though, so for the novice ppl if you dont wanna deal with stuff dont use it, err for the onboard sata ppl🙂

anyone get in on this deal? This is potentially hot if these drives were manufactured this year, because many report that the ones manufactured this year have fluid bearings and a slightly better seek time. I'm going tomorrow to check this out.

Edit: just checked and any manufactured after Feb 1. of this year should have FDB.

sweet, this is pretty hot, considering the prices are usually above 100 each for the drives.

i might pick up one, if they're indeed FDB drives....

anyone know what the unbranded 250GB drive is?

they also have a seagate 200GB UATA drive for 109.99 - 30MIR = 69.99
