Where's the $40 off code? I've been following that coupon during the last month and was waiting till the 30 off and 35 off became 40 off. It seemed around the period of once every week the new coupon came out. I know it can't be posted here, but can you provide a link? I've scanned the most recent headlines on the other forums and other deal sites and they have no mentioned of this latest Dell code.

I've been waiting to get the A70 from Dell for a while now. I missed out on the last $40 coupon and am glad it's finally back around this time. I've got a 512 Viking CF card sitting at home I just picked up from that Zones deal. Killer combo.

edit: Nevermind. I found the code. It's on BensBargains for those of you looking for it.

I'm waiting (hoping) for OM to carry this for $300 with FREE 128 or 256MB CF - $50 off $250 coupon = $250 shipped 😀

I'll be waiting a long time for that to happen but I can wait.

I think they just started stocking it. So they'll have it at msrp for a little while. I'm sure it'll come down to $300 tho in a month or two. Especially with how many diff models Canon has out at the same time.

What's a good PAD item?....I'm talkin' under $2.00, preferably.

Cheapest I could find so far is $4.19 - - - 185MB mini CDR 5-pack.

I think that may be the cheapest item on the site. I looked through almost every category.

Another item you may want to add is this camera case. Only a couple of bucks more...it says it is for the A40 but I'm sure the A70 will fit fine.

i ordered one thanks!!

got the 256meg CF card

total about 315 after rebates and taxes in FL

I bought it. Padded the order with those mini CD-Rs. I also thought about the case, but I really don't need it as the camera has its own mechanized lens cover. I always keep the camera protected in a jacket pocket. Unlike SLRs, a compact camera like this doesnt need a case with neckstrap.

How much bigger is the A70 compared to the S230? Will it still fit in your pants pocket to tote around?

I thought the intro of the S400 would bring the S230's price down but it's still holding at $400 :frown:

I've been pricing digicams for a few years now. My bosses have me buy them for the grandkids, I price them for my parents, co-workers, etc.
As a baseline for all prices, I use aaacamera.com

Here's the current canon page: http://www.aaacamera.com/canon_digital_cameras.html
As you can see, the current price for the A70 is $299
Someone mentioned the S230...it's $319 , not $400

I'm not pimping aaacamera. In fact, I'd rather you not order from them. I've had nothing but great experiences with them in thousands of dollars worth of purchases. It's just like when I first discovered svc compucycle. They're a little company that does business on the Internet, but I doubt is set up for the AT effect. What I AM saying is that you should use their prices as a baseline for any hot camera deals.

This A70 deal IS a hot one, as $275 shipped sure beats $300+ shipping. Thanks, tigerbait.

The A70 is MUCH bigger than the S230 (I bought S230 for my dad, very nice BTW...does a better job with focusing and low-light shots than my A40.)

However, the A70 is slightly smaller and lighter than the A40 I want to replace 🙂

if you've seen the A40, it's similar to the A40 but a bit smaller.

Picture comparison of A40 and A70

It isn't as small as the ELPH but it is not very bulky. Look here.

For a size comparison, check out the picture of the cameras in front of a CD-ROM in the middle of these pages - big difference.

One miracle at a time buddy 😛

is this camera the same as the s230 or s400? it seems to be a tiny bit larger - will it still fit in my pocket?

how does this compare to the s400?

thanks so much!

If you're extremely cheap you can always try to order screws for hard drive carriers to get it up to $350. They cost $.05 each.

If you look at the comparisons posted above, you'll see that the a40 is much bigger than the elphs. The ladies will be talking if you put that in your pants pocket.

This is a very nice camera, but you might want to not buy the basic SanDisk from Dell, and instead look for one of the faster "pro" or "ultra" CF if you intend to use the 640x480 30sec movie mode. You'll need the faster write capability of the "pro" or "ultra" CF cards.

😀 Good deal. Purchased with the 128MB card for approx $290 after rebate. Downside: Order confirmation gives expected ship date of 4/22. 🙁

I'm sure they'll ship it before then. There estimated ship dates are always longer than it actually takes.

Actually, not in this case. I've been waiting on this camera for 2.5 weeks
