Although I would love to shout the details for all to hear, I have a professional and ethical duty, to myself, my peers, and my employer, to keep my mouth shut outside of the office regarding this issue. I cannot in good conscience continue this discussion.

I willingly posted a thread in an attempt to reach out for support to one of the major technical communities that I subscribe to and I regret doing so. I have complicated an already-complicated situation and I apologize for the lack of closure.

What I am going through is not only difficult, but very confusing as well. I am dealing with the the combined weight of ethical and professional issues the likes of which I never imagined I would have to face; all of this on a day to day basis. I never expected this, and rather instinctively, I turned to friends and family for advice. They have been a great help, but it is still proving difficult to deal with.

I respectfully request that you let this topic go. I am quite sure that this will create continued animosity, but that is a price I have to pay. By all means continue to spam my posts, but understand that I cannot respond. If possible, I will try to keep you informed, but please try to understand my situation and the genuine regret with which I cut this discussion short.

Feels kind of cool though...I have no reservations about this whatsoever. It was an act of self-sacrifice for so many and I've never really had the opportunity to do that.

If the possible positive results come to fruition, the yes, at some juncture I will be able to speak.

I think I will use some extra strong starch on my shirt tomorrow.

Whistle-blowers aren't thought of too highly in this country...even with some minimal laws protecting whistleblowers, they always seem to end up unemployed...or transferred to BFE.

fvk that. I am sticking up for ever single employee except the one offending one. Perhaps I am using the incorrect terminology, but I ain't no snitch.

I thought whistle blower was more appropriate even though it is not a legal thing. (although technically it is 😉

I get your point, but corporate America still views whistle-blowers as snitches...like it or not. Hell, our own government considers them snitches and heaps retribution upon their careers.

Just consider whether the thing was worth losing your job over or not.
 
OP caught the VP bone the receptionist in the boys restroom, asked to join in for some DP, but was denied. Felt left out, so he snitched to HR.
