Yeah, but it's impossible to find them anywhere near that price for that condition. The only ones around here are either:

[ ] Twice the cost
[ ] Beaten to rat sh!t and need another two grand to certify
[ ] Riced to all hell

There was a V6 MT that I was quite enamoured of ... until I found out it needed a new ignition distributor (full assembly, not just a cap), new CV joints, and new interior.

bah, you guys ALL get raped on insurance. My 85 iroc was my first car and costed me $300 for one-way and my 03 lancer costs me $1500/year full coverage and i'm only 19 years old ... I have about 6 tickets since i first got my iroc, but they haven't been dealt with yet so my insurance will probably go up.. 😛

still i think i have a pretty sweet deal, even compared to all my friends.. I pay 500-1000 less. not sure why

Come back when those have been applied and processed. 😉

1500/year? Good lord. The Vandura (The only vehicle I'm actually insured to drive) only adds $300/year to my parent's policy. Of course, the amount paid in so far on that vehicle so far exceeds it's replacement cost several times, so that may factor in a bit.

So M4H, did you buy the Wagon + Protege or is this a joke thread or what? I saw you mention an 03 Civic.

Please explain what is going on =)

LOL 😀

I actually didn't buy either. The 03 Civic LX is what I'm driving at the moment, which my older brother is taking over. The part about engagement and roommate is true. (But not in the way you guys think!)

And there's yet another prospect on the horizon. See OP.

RE: the stereo plans....you may want to skip rear speakers. I did and haven't gone back....nicer amplification and a good set of 6.5 separates up front and a nice sub or two.

Good idea. I like having a full soundstage, but I can always add them in later. Also gives me more money to spend on a nicer amp.

Or you could just leave the stock rear speakers in... if it has stock rears. If your fronts have an amp, you can also just leave those rears on the HU power.

No stock rears I'm afraid.

I've got the car - what is yet to be determined is how much repairs are needed. Worst-case is about ~$900, best is ~$400.

Anyone know a cheap source for lower control arms for a 93 Civic 1.5L sedan?

Get both the protege and the civic. and take the protege body and put the civic's moving parts in it.

Then you won't be a riceboy - you'll be an idiot driving around a rediculous protege.

Sweet, then I can put Mazdaspeed AND Type-R decals on it.

WTB: Mazdaspeed and Type-R decals, CF hood, aluminum wing, Altezzas, NOS bottles

That a catchy enough title?

That could have a great deal to do with it.

Just get the GT and you will have the best of both worlds.

An Escort with Rice. 😀

No, no, domestic Rice is Wheat 😉

But I am giving the B20 drop some thought. It even has practical merit - I'd be getting an engine that's six years newer and has about ten thousand KM on it.
