UPDATE #3
After having a mechanic take a look at the car with his head out of his ass, it was shown that about $1800-$2000 of further work is needed on the Protege. :| And the Escort got sold in that one day.
But all is not lost.
Enter the Civic. 93 LX sedan. Body's a wee bit rougher than I'd like, but nothing I can't fix. Same price. Going for safety tomorrow. Let's see what happens.
I may yet be a riceboy still, so don't hang up those flaming gloves yet! 😀

Looks like I'll have to get that Protege too. Windshield's covered under former owner's warranty. It just needs a brakejob and it'll pass a safety. 😀
And a stereo, of course. 😉

Aw, crap almighty! The Mazda dealer just called. One-owner 1990 Protege LX up there. Mint body, needs a windshield. I might have to get that too. 😀

Power locks, windows, mirrors, keyless (incl trunk), alarm system, auto, A/C, dual airbags, cruise control, and only 94000 km (58000 miles) - and four new snow tires in addition to the all-seasons on it.
It needs a stereo badly though. Stock AM/FM/cassette and four Ford speakers just ain't gonna cut it. I'd appreciate suggestions on:
HU (CD/MP3, gotta have extra inputs)
Amp(s)
6.5s for the front
5x7s for the rear
Some funk for the trunk (10"s?)
Edit - Forgot the cruise. 😛
