I put a Papst 119mm fan behind the drive cage when I added a second HDD. It improves airflow over the drives. I have a 15k RPM SCSI boot drive and a 7200 RPM IDE storage drive. I'm thinking a nice 92mm fan hole cut in the side panel would do a great job of cooling the drives, cards and mobo...and will alctually bring fresh air into the case. Maybe I'll be a guinea pig here and do some testing.

#1: Stock (holes open)
#2: Stock (holes covered)
#3: Stock with drive bay fan (holes open)
#4: 92mm side intake (holes open)
#5: 92mm side intake (holes closed)

Give me a few days though.

I would be really interested in seeing the difference in the temps, since I was thinking about possibly trying to tape up some of the holes in my case also.

Ok prelim results:

First check the new setup Link.

1.) Side panel off (similar to side-panel fan installed)
2.) Side Panel On
3.) Holes covered

So if you are running with just the exhaust fan you need to leave the holes open. But this case needs some serious front or side intake action...no doubt about it.

Wow, your wires look nice and out of the way... mine looks like a rats nest.. maybe thats why its running a little hot. Looks like I have some work to do. Thanks for the results though, I think that made up my mind to put a fan in the side.
