<< Ok - technical question here.....

the front usb connectors are marked
(1) +D
(1) -D
(2) +D
(2) -D
(1) +5V
(2) +5V

my motherboard, the ecs k7s5a, has a page nullhttp://www.ecsusa.com/usbk7s5a.cfm that lists the following pins...

VREG_FP_USBPWR0
VREG_FP_USBPWR0
USB_FP_P0-
USB_FP_P1-
USB_FP_P0+
USB_FP_P1+
USB_FP_OC0

How should these match up???? Thanks
>>

I have the MSI board with similar out pins as yours. This is what I would do

VREG_FP_USBPWR0 = (1) +5V
VREG_FP_USBPWR0 = (2 +5V
USB_FP_P0- = (1) -D
USB_FP_P1- = (2) -D
USB_FP_P0+ = (1) +D
USB_FP_P1+ = (2) +D
USB_FP_OC0 =

Don't know why yours has 2 VREG_FP_USBPWR0. Mine has 2 also, but marked differently. I connect them like that and it works like a charm. Have my digital camera connected to one and my printer to the other.

<< Yea, Newegg owes me 5 bucks for the AMD dealio thing too, but Im not worrying too much about it.
As I said before in an earlier post, I got this case. I was playing around with it, and found that the side
case fan actually sucks air in, instead of blowing air out of the case. Is this what should be happening?
I thought most fans blow hot air out, not suck cold air in, not sure whether its as effective. This case is
as solid as a turtle shell. Trust me. Its solid construction makes it slightly heavy, but who wants to carry
his desktop everywhere? Esp if its a midtower.

Thanks for the good deal GtPrOjEcTX.

You're welcome. You want to blow cool air onto the processor if you have the fan on the processor blowing onto the cpu...you'll want to swap the fan's direction if you have your cpu fan sucking from the heatsink, this way blowing the hot air from the heatsink's fan out of the case.

<< b/c of the nature of the case (being entirely screwless) it will not be as secured as a screwed case, this isn't saying the case isn't sturdy as it it. The metal inside is not sharp, hope this answers your question...(i've never owned an antec) >>

I purchased this case too. However it is not entirely screwless like it says. The bottom two drive cages require screws, which is kind of stupid considering the rest of the case doesn't. And your most likely going to put your drives in the bottom 2 cages. I wasn't able to fit my drives in the 5 1/4" slots at the top, even with the adapter brackets on (the brackets were too short for the case to grab on to).

I also don't like the metal bracket that holds the pci cards in place. Its hard to use, and sharp. I got a good cut off it.

I am happy with the case otherwise, I also like how easy the side comes off and on. I posted my comments in neweggs comment section. I only gave it 4 stars though. Newegg never posted it I see... which now makes me wonder how reliable it is to trust their comment section... unless they just haven't gotten around to updating it.

GtrProjecTX: I almost got it, or so I think. If my heatsink blows air out, I want the side fan to blow air out of the case too right? If my heatsink sucks air in, then I want to blow cold air into the case right? Hope i got it, thanks.

Brag & Moan.......FedEx sux! I ordered on Friday and it arrived at my local sort facility about 10 miles from my house on Sunday morning....great! I was expecting a Monday delivery, nope, tracking still shows the package at the sort facility, so this morning I called and asked when to expect delivery, they said Wednesday....I asked why when it is sitting at the sort facility, why not just deliver the damn thing.....they said that FedEx reserves the right to hold the package because it was 3 biz day delivery.......you would think that FedEx would want to make themselves look good and deliver the package early.....what a bunch of dumbasses....I asked if I could pick it up and they said no too........grrrrrrrrrr. I will never ship FedEx......UPS would have delivered already.

I got my case last week, and it was missing one 5" 1/2 and one 3" 1/4 plates. It didn't bother me, because I was gonna install a CD-ROM and and
disc drive in it...are they all like that from the factory to save money? Also, the "warranty void if removed" sticker on the power supply is semi-intact.
Hope I didn't get a retured case. Other than that, it is working fine.

They were not missing, it comes that way. As far as I know even the picture of the case looks like that!

Got the case today! MSI nForce is running like a champ right now! This is the first time I can ever remember a build using ZERO PCI slots!

Only 2 things I didn't like.

1. USB was kinda a pain to hook up. I just kinda guessed, and got it right the first time!

2. The spacer screws that come with it. You don't use them. The motherboard just sits right on top of the "nipples" that are built onto the frame.

This is a NICE case though! Feels VERY sturdy, and the PSU is putting out consistent juice. I'm very impressed. Especially at that price.

One more thing. Anyone know if the side fan is supposed to be an intake fan? I figured with it being that close to the CPU, that it would be an exhaust fan.

I'm going to try it for my intake. I like the fact that its filtered and I just ordered 3 of these Text fans for this case. These fans are a little quiter and put out a little more air than the panaflo fans although they are more money, but shipping is free. I may have to experiment around a little but I plan on making the side fan my intake and the other two blowing out. Keep in mind I'm NOT overclocking, I just want to keep the case cool and quite.

Geez. You are going to be able to store milk in that baby. If you aren't overclocking, I'd think panaflos would be fine. I've got 9 fans in my system right now, and the only one I can here is the CPU. I'm gettin a new HSF this week, so it should drop a few decibels.

I use the side fan as a intake fan, I've got 3 fans going, two intake (one in the front blowing onto my two HD's, and the side fan) and one outtake fan blowing out at the rear of the case. Runs sooooooo cool. In my old case my HD's would get too hot, enev too hot to hold or handle, now they run cool, as well as everything else (really notice with the vid card, too!)...

There are a couple other threads on the Maxtop cases. I think they have AMD approved PSUs. Also, the Antec on the front page is an awesome case.
