UPDATE: usps problem

according to my tracking info a package was delivered to my house today at 2:06 pm...it was shipped parcel post with tracking...would it show as delivered if they were holding it at the p.o. for some reason?

i have had packages delivered here before, so i wouldnt think that was the case, though...

did someone steal my package? 🙁

UPDATE: heh...the p.o. delivered it to my address...except it was S. instead of N...the person that lives there brought it back to the p.o....so now i got it!

yay

was it just delivery confirmation? if so don't put too much faith in what the "tracking" shows... I think it will show as delivered if it made it to the recipient's PO.

With USPS, the fact that it shows Delivered is a definate indicator that it may have been delivered to someone, somewhere. However, it may be in Greenland. USPS DC doesn't exactly count as real tracking.

If they attempted delivery and you're not here, the right thing to do would be leave you a orange slip telling you to pickup the package at the PO tomorrow. But seeing how they didn't, they might have left it and it got stolen. What did the delivery confirmation tracking say?

That sounds wrong on so many levels.

Track & Confirm

Your item was delivered at 2:06 pm on March 22, 2005 in PAULS VALLEY, OK 73075.

Here is what happened earlier:
ENROUTE, March 20, 2005, 7:24 pm, DALLAS, TX 75398
ENROUTE, March 16, 2005, 8:22 am, FEDERAL WAY, WA 98003
ELECTRONIC SHIPPING INFO RECEIVED, March 15, 2005

that is what it tells me...

i would hope they didnt leave the package with my neighbors...isnt that illegal?

US Postal don't leave packages at your neighbors, they leave you a notice so you can pick it up at the local PO. If you don't see it tomorrow, file a mail theft report at the PO.

no notice was left...and they've left packages here before...so i'm beginning to think either the tracking is just telling me its at the p.o. waiting to be delivered tomorrow...or it got jacked 🙁

hopefully it shows up tomorrow

what was in the package?

from my experience, usps delivery confirmation is very very very unreliable. in fact, i hate it. for example, i have a package shipping from ny (to ca) that is still stuck on:

ELECTRONIC SHIPPING INFO RECEIVED, March 18, 2005

you get the point.

a watercooling setup...and the bad part about this is its coming from a forum member here...and he shipped first since he didnt have much heat...so if it was stolen i owe him for something i never got...through no fault of his, of course...but its just like being trolled...trolled by usps! wtf

I suppose YMMV Baked; the USPS will leave packages for me w/ my neighbors and vice versa 🙂

why can't you pay him thru paypal with cc, then file a claim with your cc? pretty much all cover against theft of the item. cc companies are always your friend, especially amex blue.

if i do that won't the card company go to paypal for their money? who will in turn pull it from his account?
