The lifetime warranty definitely does NOT apply to Craftsman power tools, not even the "Craftsman Industrial" line.

I bought a 13.2V reversible Craftsman Industrial drill/driver a few years back for around $50. Its seen pretty light use. The switch assembly went south on it (couldn't change directions) recently. Power tool warranty had already expired (I think it is a year) and Sears wanted $41 for just that part.

cpa, " Ahhhh, but there is a difference. With Craftsman, if it breaksdown for any reason, you can just take it to Sears and they will exchange it with no hassles. this is a lifetime guarantee. I don't think many other brands carry this same warranty with the same ease of replacement." Bump on the warranty. Only applies to actual "craftsman" brand hand tools nothing else. Sometimes I see a Sunday ad & get all fired up only to read the fine print & see that it's some "other brand" companion etc.and not actually Craftsman

From what I understand, ACE HARDWARE also cares the same kind of replacement warranty on there tools. I have ALL Craftsman tools and they have always been great about replacing them.

Actually, not ALL Craftsman hand tools are covered, Drill bits, screw extractors, mirrors, and I think punches and chisels and maybe more are not covered. But if you get a new employee and some younger girls they might not know this yet.

The sale is on! I'm getting the Drill, Screwdrivers, and 100pc Mechanics set to replace all the tools I have lost or misplaced thanks to my wife and child
