Here's the item # for the scroll saw, 00921616000 .

The direct link seems to have gone south, so just do a search.

This one will replace my Ryobi, got to have the tilt. :)

That is a good deal on a good scroll saw; I use mine all the time for wood projects.

One word of warning. Craftsman hand tools are still made in America but the power tools, ie. scroll saw, drills and such are all being made in China. It seems that the quality of the power tools is starting to go down the drain. This is what I heard from some friends who follow this stuff like religon, so don't yell at me if you think otherwise.

But, the price on the scroll saw is tempting.

"Craftsman" power tools are no different than any others. Craftsman is just a name; while I was working there, some of the saws were made by Skil, some by Ryobi, and some by Delta. The drills were by DeWalt and a few other companies. Anyway, the quality of the power tools hasn't really gone down that much, IMO, but they definitely aren't (and never have been) the pinnacle of power tools. Regarldess, $60 for that Scroll Saw is a great deal.

Roll-around tool chests....

Buy #959786 (7 drawer chest) and #959787 (5 drawer base) for $199.95
and get a free 3-drawer chest (#959883)

Buy #965904 (8 drawer chest) and 965905 (5 drawer base) for 299.95
and get a free 3-drawer chest (#965120).

They also have the 13.2 volt cordless drill with case, charger, and two batteries for $39.99.
I bought one and it works great.

Ahhhh, but there is a difference. With Craftsman, if it breaksdown for any reason, you can just take it to Sears and they will exchange it with no hassles. this is a lifetime guarantee. I don't think many other brands carry this same warranty with the same ease of replacement.

Too bad it is not a variable speed saw. Still, for $60 I can't complain too much. May be swinging by in the morning.

Not sure if their power tools have the same warranty as their hand tools. I have only had to exchange one tool with them, a ratcheting screwdriver, and just my luck they no longer made that particular design. Got a newer model, no questions asked, but I miss the old one. Much better design.

OOps, sorry about that (above).
It was my understanding that the lifetime guarantee only applies to Craftsman hand tools, not power tools. At least that's what I was told at my local Sears.

Sorry to go OT, but I have a question about the Lifetime warranty on hand tools:

Does this apply to the black "suitcase" cases for the ~120 piece socket/crescent wrench sets?

The flat, black divider that snaps into my case that separates the sockets from the crescent wrenches is warped, so everytime the case is moved the sockets fall everywhere, out from their moulded little spaces.

Do you think I can get the case replaced?

Thanks,
-Matt

Not correct. Some of the Craftsman hand tools that I have are made in China. I would assume that their suppliers change every few years (or months) depending on price/quality/availability. YMMV
