I've deleted a lot of stock apps from my phone, and would like to use the free space for programs of my choosing. I can move the apps fine. They all won't work, but I'd guess I have an ~80% success rate. The problem is when I update the app, it gets placed in /data/app, so I have to manually move it again.

I'm guessing it's some kind of signing issue. It used to work on an older Android on a cheap tablet I have, but not on KitKat/Galaxy S5. I use the fdroid repo almost exclusively.

Any way to get this to work, or alternately, is there a creative use of the free space?

I've gotten interested in trying this again. This thread had so much free space, it seemed wasteful to start another :^P
