I friggin hate the automatic restarts.

I am in the midst of a job search and after surfing job sites all morning I had about 12 browser windows open for positions to apply to this afternoon. I get back from picking my son up from school and lo and behold the computer rebooted. Now I have to repeat this morning's efforts... :|

If I was using my desktop, Firefox would have allowed me to restore the session. This crappy laptop in my home office has no such feature. :|

Firefox would have reopened all the sites.
thanks for the tip...

Some of yesterday's Windows updates were sneaky.
Usually, there's taskbar notification that updates are available and you can check out details on each recommended update. Nice and upfront.

However, yesterday, there was no indication that any updates were available or that they were downloaded. It wasn't until shutdown that you got the option of clicking to install updates and shut off, or shut off without installation. It's like they didn't want you to know what was being installed.

Really makes me suspicious.

That's weird, cause yesterday when I turned on my comp it randomly rebooted 5 minutes later. But, this was after I allowed it to install the updates the night before. Maybe they snuck in an additional update that needed a reboot?

So would Opera.

And in addition, BS like this is why I keep automatic updates turned off.

Norton has finished updating. Save any work, because you're not given the choice to cancel this restart.

Did you save? Hurry and save. We'll stay right here in front of your face until you do it.

Why aren't you saving?

I can stay in front of your face allll day you know.

Using Firefox on U3 thumb drives FTW! I love using Firefox even though it isn't installed in the computer at work.
