Do you guys think that we will see more prices like this in the next month? Or would it be better to jump on this right now?

why would price go up???? price will only go down as supply increases, as we have seen in the last few weeks. Remember when $300 for GT was such a big deal, well not anymore.

Hey, this looks like a great deal. The only thing I hesitate over, is whether or not the PNY card will be any good. Some people have commented that PNY has a reputation for selling crippled, underclocked, cheap products.

Then those people are stupid. My card runs 400/1100 24/7 and I got it up to 435/1160 max as well! C'mon now!

Anyone know when provantage thinks they'll get these in stock? Seems like compusa has these now and more stores are getting them so i'm hoping it wont be long.

heh...I posted this in the Compusa thread and it drew no interest. Anyways, Provantage is a greally good store, have bought from them before.

Status: Your order has been placed with one of our suppliers who will ship it directly to you.

The expected shipping date for this order is Monday, July 26, 2004.

I will call them and find out how many they are getting.

Well I talked to the Provantage lady, and after harashing her for 5 minutes I was able to come up with there are 127 people who have this order placed.

So I am about 125th in line, and she said she has no idea how many they will actually get on the 26th. My guess is they sure as fu*k wont get 100 cards in that day, so I bet it will be august before most of ours are shipped.

That is quite a long time. Do they charge your card immediatley? If so they getyour money for like 2 weeks or more, and you get nothing which sux.

However this is 50$ under retail.. so it's a pretty good buy. I doubt they will get 100+ cards in but who knows? I mean what can any of us do but guess

Provantage is a fairly big outfit, I think they mainly try to sell to corporations. They could very well get 100+ cards in.

^that would be fraudulant.

from http://www.scambusters.org/reports/walker.html :
Are there problems with real-time ordering processing?
There are many services out there that offer (for a fee or percentage) to process your orders in real-time, while the customer is logged onto the site. The first question you need to answer is whether you need to use such a service. If you are selling any hard goods that are physically shipped to an address, the answer is no. Legally, you can not even charge the customer's card until the order has been shipped. However, the option of real-time processing is very attractive to software vendors or subscription services. This convenience does have its risk

I honestly think the 6800GT will be selling for 300$ or more at cristmas. That is a great deal.
Dunno about that... Now that nVidia has got its act together and 6800 and ATI800 go neck in neck performancewise, the competition is gonna be real hard which has got to bring prices down fast.

Anyway, it ptobably won't go below $300 at christmas, but it won't cost much more than that too...
