UPDATE! Philips CDRW PCRW80 $40 Rebate

I bought mine many, many months ago. The BB rebate came almost inmediately and the Phillips just arrived today. A CD writer for 15 dollars is not a bad deal at all even if it takes several months for rebates to arrived. By the way, I didn't contact anybody. I read what other people posted about the changes about Phillips rebates and waited for the rebate to arrive. Nice deal.

I believe that people need to be mum as far as speaking about multi receipt of checks... just a thought.. as I'm sure there are those who have not (still ) received their first one yet

I got 2 $40 checks too. I think it was worth the wait and aggravation to get paid $40 to have this drive.

I was hesitant to post this at first because I didn't want to be the only one that received two checks.

Second check arrived here as well. I am tempted to frame it as a reminder to buy/not buy Philips again.

My guess is that the paperwork/database from the original rebate handler was finally handled through the proper channels, and those who had called (and called and called) Philips direct during the end of 2001 were paid thruogh a different subsystem.

I just got a $20 check in the mail from them today. Ive sent away for so many damn things (cdrw, acoustic edge, etc..) , i dont remember what this is for. Hell it could even be for my Acoustic Edge from OVER a year ago.

Come to think of it, i never did recieve that AE one... ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Anyone know how much the cdrw one was for?


EDIT: Well after rereading the post... This MUST be from my Acoustic Edge... I cant believe this though, OVER A YEAR to send it?!?

Thanks for the e-mail address guys. I just e-mailed natalia.russ@philips.com and will post what happens. I got nowhere with the phone numbers originally posted, gave the drive to my son as a gift and he couldn't find reciept.
