As some of you know, my cousin's 1 year old daughter had a brain tumor removed. she has had a roller coaster ride since the surgery to remove it.

Because of the medical problems, Jenny may have to quit her job and thus loose the insurance that will pay for the chemotherapy that Catie requires. Please pray for their family.

Catie and My son should only be days apart in age, but Sean was premature, but is doing well. Catie was full term, and the doctor says the tumor was growing since conception.

i have a daughter (15 months old) that has been and out of the hospital. Its not easy for the parents. While i understand that jenny wants/needs to be there Insurance is way to important to risk loseing. We cant afford the doctors and hospital visits that she needs.

But i wish your cousin the best of luck. i will pray for them.

Thanks for the positive thoughts,

Catie should have started Chemo by now, but complications from the surgery have delayed the treatment. So we hope and pray each day that the tumor does not begin to grow again. The cancer she has is very aggressive, and grows fast. they got about 90% of the tumor.

It's so hard to believe that things like this happen. DO NOT let them lose their medical insurance. I would imagine there could be some sort of agreement that your cousin and her employer could come to regarding the tragedy that has befell her. I'd definitely look into her options.

<edit> My prayers are with your family. </edit>

Such a sh!tty, unfair world we live in: little angel has tumor > needs lots of hospital care > needs lots of time from parents > mom has to quit job > insurance is lost > lots more problems for family.

Insurance companies are teh suck!

My thoughts and prayers go out to all families touched by this. I hope she's in the care of Emory Egleston Children?s Hosptial. They are great from what I've heard.

She is at Childrens Healthcare in Atlanta. The Neurosurgeon is one of the tops in the nation. He is quite often referred to as "The God" of neuro surgery there. He is also the surgeon who evaluated my son, and said no reason to operate. Very rare to you find a surgeon who does not want to operate. He looked at all evidence before deciding on a course of action.

He also set aside his vacation when Catie's films showed up in his practice. He took her case on personally. Has a great bedside manner, and a presence that lets you know this man is good.
