How does this whole concussion protocol deal work? Edelman sure looks like he took a direct head shot and had trouble running in a straight line after.

So far, Edelman is the MVP. He's turning shit into gold and basically igniting the entire Pats offense. Matthews is doing well, but his catches are more a function of a well-run play by the entire team.

Don't know about that. Edelman's catches have been mostly due to good throws / easy throws when Brady has had some time and from defense failure to cover him. Matthews has been catching some difficult catches while he's covered.

Edelman has been getting a lot of plays, but my vote goes to Matthews.
 
Now please, please Tom don't get twitchy and try and force a ball in there, if no one is open just throw it away.
