What kind of restaurants are you looking for? Casual, 4*, or nationally-ranked?

If you're going to do the pizza thing, find a Pequod's, otherwise Lou Malnati's for chain location.

You're in a dead zone for great dining but GT Fish & Oyster isn't far from you. Bub City has a great whiskey list and live country music most days. Sable is one of my favorite bars downtown.

For trendy dining, restaurant row has more places than you'll be able to try in your time there. Girl & The Goat/Little Goat being likely the most well known. Au Cheval is hipster heaven with their beer list and awesome burger but expect a wait. For a fancy bar program, Alinea is there too.

And that's just scratching the surface. 😛

Except Chicago isn't much of a tourist city. Past threads haven't had anything wonderful in them, and those not from Chicago couldn't possibly believe how little exists in such a large city, the previous threads most certainly have something missing from them.

Chicago has plenty of tourist attractions. You could easily spend a week here and not have enough time to see/do everything.

Year after year Woodfield Mall is Illinois' top tourist attraction. That's saying something for sure.

I couldn't believe this claim is even remotely true so I looked it up. Woodfield claims 27 million visitors per year. Apparently that includes all shoppers, a ridiculous metric to claim that it's somehow a "tourist attraction". I occasionally go there to shop--that certainly doesn't make me a tourist. I'm gonna venture a wild guess that more travelers are visiting Chicago than Woodfield Mall.

Well weather was fairly nice the whole second part of January. There's new batch of snow coming in February.
To visit the museums you don't need the July.

I've never even heard of Woodfield Mall. Pretty sure Navy Pier is the top tourist attraction. Not that Navy Pier is all that great, but it usually makes that claim.

We're going to Chicago for a few nights in July. Heard the place is great in the summer so are definitely looking forward to it. Plus we're going to see the Chicago Cubs on July 4th. That's America man! 🙂

Sounds like a nightmare lol. Used to live a block north of the stadium, it'll be insane out that day. And hot. And the Cubs suck 🙂
