Here are the updates I've received:

I placed my order August 27. I called at the time I ordered and the CSR said it would probably ship Sept. 5. That didn't happen.

I called again a week after Sept. 5. I was told they were receiving a shipment of the ram on Sept. 22 and all the backorders, including mine, would ship out that day. That didn't happen.

I called yesterday and was told they have no idea when they'll get any more stock and they were probably going to stop selling the product. The person could offer me no time frame at all.

I canceled my order. Fortunately they hadn't charged my credit card. If it's not clear from the tone of this post, I'm very displeased with Outpost's inability to fulfill my order given a full month to do so.

I just finished calling Outpost as to way my order didn't ship out on the 22nd. They said that the shipment didn't come in. I don't know if its Outpost's fault, Patriot's, or the shipper... but if there's no update in a week i'll be cancelling my order.

Are any more suckers (like me) still waiting for this to come in? I just got this email a couple of days ago from them:

Thank you for contacting Outpost.com.

We have received your response to keep your order active and have noted
your account. Our apologies for the continued delay.

Currently we estimate your item to be in stock on October 13, 2005.
However we cannot guarantee that date as manufacturers occasionally
experience delays in shipping their products. We recommend that you
check back with us on or shortly after this date to verify your order
status. We apologize for the delay and any inconvenience this may
cause.

Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

We'll see if it comes in--I'm still not holding my breath

Don't consider myself a sucker as I will not have use for these memory sticks for some time from now but a just completed phone conversation echoed your email.

samsung uccc. they're not suppose to be that good for OCing, but they're good for low voltage and latencies.

probably everyone is getting the "ribbed" heatsinks, which do look nice. Hopefully outpost.com will put these back on the website once they've fulfilled the outstanding orders. I hope the price is <$240 again. Monarch jacked their's from $244 to $256 a while back.

Samsung uccc? What is that? I presumed they use the same chips as all the other ones in Anandtech's 2x1gb review. Those are all thought to use Infineon, apparently.

I thought these where the same infineon chips that one of the OCZ lines with the same timings used... strange.

I still have received nothing but my order was place on Aug 30th so the fact that those who place theres on Aug 23rd are getting them now gives me hope. BF 2 smoothness may just be around the corner...

Well, mine still has not shipped. I just called them and they expect another order in by Nov 4th. They have been getting them in almost every week but they just don't have enough volume to get to me yet :(

Someday I will have my ram though I am so tempted to cancel and get something similar for a few $ more.

Anyway, with the trend nowadays with DDR1 memory, keeping this order alive is like money in the bank!

I ordered a set on Sept. 5th and have been back ordered since then. On Oct. 4th I got the following E-Mail:

Dear WALTER,

Thank you for your order XXXXXXXXXXXX.

We apologize but the item(s) you ordered are still out of stock
and we are unable to provide a definite ship date.

Please let us know if you would like to keep your order active
by calling us at 1-877-OUTPOST (International customers, please
call 1-860-927-2050) or e-mailing us at backorders@outpost.com.

If you elect to keep your order active and agree to an
indefinite ship date, you may cancel your order any time
prior to shipment. If we do not hear from you within 30
business days, your order will be cancelled automatically,
and we will provide a full and prompt refund of any charges
which you may have incurred for unshipped items.

We appreciate your business.

Sincerely,

I called them on Oct. 20th and they said there are 18 people still on back order, but they are expecting more than that to come in with the next shipment that comes in at the end of Oct, early Nov at the latest.

Patience is definitely a virtue, hehe.
