Update: I tested all of my hardware in someone elses system including my cpu and it was all functional. Put there ram and processor in my mobo and it wouldnt work. So i'm in the process of RMA'ing it (im sure Newegg will have no problems switching it for me)

-------------------

Just build a new computer but it wont post, turn it on and the drives and lights turn on but the screen stays off. I have tried a pci video card and i have removed everything from the motherboard besides the processor and video card and it still doesnt work. Heres what i got:

IWILL 333-R
XP 1800
PNY GF3 Ti-200
2x 256mb crucial DDR pc2100
Liteon 32x cdr
Liteon 18x(?) dvd
80gb ata133 maxtor hard drive
Audigy
Belkin 10/100 network card
generic 56k modem
Samsung 19' 955df

Any suggestions?

Thanks
Luden

Pull the motherboard out of the case and lay it something nonconductive. Try firing it up. If it works, then it's shorting out in the case, probably on an unused motherboard standoff.

yes it will, also make sure your psu is set correctly, and make sure your RAM and Graphics cards are seated correctly.

Something maybe dead. Did you buy everything new? Anyway have you tried to reset your CMOS? Try only video, ram and CPU. Also make sure your CPU fan is plugged into the CPU slot on the mobo(have heard of some mobos having a feature like this to prevent CPU from burning up).

Oh yeah try the ram in different slots.

You probably already have, but check your manual for the beep codes. Some manuals have it, but most don't. I don't have a link to the code refferences, but there are resources on the net that might help you with it. My board came with little led lights on it.

Like the above posted asked, is every thing new? Do you have a means of checking the core components? Like a similar computer?

Good luck with it.

Yup, everything is brand new. I've reset the cmos multiple times. The fan is plugged into the mobo (it spins) I've tried two differnt sticks of ram in every slot.

And there are not beep codes in the manuel, I'm going to try to test the components with someones elses computer.
