I know most people don't care, but I do. I hope this is true, as no one else is reporting it yet.

As an A's Fan and Non Geek I hope they don't strike. I actually think the A's can take the Yanks this year. Hell we were just onme play away from doing it last year and we are a better team this year plus the Yanks Closer, Riveras, is banmged up and isn't so invincible. Then we can put those upstart Dbacks in their place in the Series.

Would be quite an irony for Giambi isn't it. He probably won't cares since he's in it for the $$$ like everyone else. As for the playoff, I doubt the A's or Yankee's can take those rattlesnake with Schiling and Big Unit pitching the way the've been pitching since last year. Heck, weren't for that Kim guy, the series would have ended in 5, but if any of the two is having a subpar game, then they will be feast on easily.
You are probably right. Even though the A's are the hottest team in Baseball their win streak is due to them playing pathetic teams like the Tigers and Royals. Still if there are two clubs that could knock the DBacks dick in the dirt it would be the A's and the Yanks. Personally I think the A's would stand a better chance as I think Art Howe would out manage Brenly (the DBacks won the Series last year in spite of him)As for the playoff, I doubt the A's or Yankee's can take those rattlesnake with Schiling and Big Unit pitching the way the've been pitching since last year.

How much have you watched Mulder, Hudson and Zito pitch this year? They have been awesome.
Couple that with the fact that Lidle has been unbelieveable for the past month and the A's have a legitimate shot at winning it all this year.
Of course, we have to have a labor agreement first.![]()
Of course you would. This way they'd avoid the embarrassment of getting beat in the Playoffs again by a team with a worse record.I'll gladly sacrifices the Braves season for it
the players have moved pretty far on this, much further than you'd expect based on what they've done in the past. best reason for it is that no one likes playing for a team that has absolutely no chance, and at the beginning of the season you've got half the teams in the league without a legitimate shot at getting to the playoffs, not to mention the WS. its time to just split the difference.Originally posted by: NetworkDad
This could be the dagger that tells players we're sick of their wining attitudes, outrageous salaries, drugs, etc.

Zito has been superb, with Mulder and Hudson being good, but they're presently not in the same level with Schiling and Johnson. On a 7 games series, you need to beat one of them, and they've been pretty much rock solid all year long. Also, I don't think the As would get homefield advantage in the WS, they would have to sludge their way across the Twins, and heating up for division showdown with Angels & Mariners, so that they probably end up a couple of games behind the West Champs in total wins.
No!!! no labor agreement, go on strike dang it!!! I'll gladly sacrifices the Braves season for it (getting bored with all the division title but only 1 ring to show for)![]()
