Just watched the new espisode on july 15th
at the beginning, everyone was against dat phann especially that voss goof and dave murdel. Voss thinks hes big sh!t but he aint too funny himself.

Anyways it ended up everyone votin against dat so he picked murdel to go against cause he was like against him the whole time.

murdel went first and put a really good routine on which was very funny
dat went on but he wasnt as funny as murdel in my opinion, maybe his comedy isnt my style
anyways dat won with 70% of the vote..looked to me murdel got screwed because his jokes were way funnier..
i dunno what to say but the host JAY MOHR is not funny at all, more like a goofball

This show sucks. There is no way Dat was funnier than Dave Mordal.

Should be a big hit for years to come.

Anyway, I can see why Dat Phan won.
The routine was about 5 mins long.
In the five mins, you have to throw out as much as you can.
Dave is the better comic but he tells stories too much and in 5 mins, he told what 3 stories. Not enough funny punch lines in those 3 stories.
On the other hand, Dat just threw out a bunch of funny skits about his Mom and such.
Got more laughs from the audience and WON.

I can see why most people don't think Dat is funny. Hes still very raw and most(if not ALL) of his materials are based on how his MOM talks. Thats pretty much it.
I'm Vietnamese and I find it funny because most older Vietnamese folks talk exactly like he does.

I hope he has more material than poking fun about his MOM.
I think Rich Vos is the funniest but then again hes been doing comedy for 20 yrs.

Dat keeps doing the asian jokes, it is getting old.

Dat is not funnie at all. Me and my gf are asian, and his *jokes* are just lame...
If hes gonna do the asian joke thing, theres a lot better ones out there.
Dave was hilarious. And I was sure he won, coz i thought he got more laughs from the audience, and towards the ends of Dats lame time there were very few laughs from anyone. I think dat is lucky he gets to go second. Its a huge advantage. Dave got them fired up, and dat luckily held them long enough. Another 2 mins and it would've been dead silent.

The crowd isnt always as good as it airs on tv. There's been a few times they "sweetened" it.

This show now officially sucks.

Dave was the best. Dat's act = pretending to be his mother. He had 0% new material on tonights show, AND he wussed out by not going head to head with voss (who he claimed to be funnier than).

Dave seemed to underestimate Dat and only came with his so-so stuff (probably keeping the best for the later rounds). He needs his own HBO special. I'd pay to see him, but is sounds like he doesn't like to leave his farm in minnesota.

As long as Dat keeps getting audiences who haven't heard his act before, he may do ok. There's no way he'll win it all though.

Of course I agree with you guys that his Asian jokes are old.
We've heard it times before.
I'm only speaking from the audience point of view cause its probably the first time they've seen him.
I did say I hope he has other routines before "TALKING LIKE MY mom can only last so long"

For those that dislike him because he makes racial Asian jokes, good god, alot of comics makes a career out of talking about racial, stereotype stuff.

caught a glimpse of the show tonight, and man did Dat's routine suck. If you're going to do asian humor, do it right...it's 2003, most people have heard your normal asian parent impersonation...and man did I hate his pretend accent. I'm surprised that he got as many votes as he did, as I think Dave would wipe the floor with him any given day if Dat's material is always like that.

and why did they all gang up on him...did he piss everyone off somehow, or was he simply just the worst?

And what's the deal with the fat guy...he's gotta be really funny, cuz I'd laugh my ass off just from him having a heart-attack walking on stage. (I know, I'm mean...I just hate such gross shows of obesity.)

Dave had a great consistanly funny routine, while Dat had a long dead zone in his. Dave = more experienced smooth comic. Hated to see him go.

I am almost convinced the show has to be fixed now. No friggin way Dat's stuff was better than Dave, let alone 70/30. Dat's stuff was one joke and he kept doing it. Heck, he had whole punchlines worth of stuff that left the audience just dead quiet.

Of course it was neat seeing Voss's face. Looked like he was watching an execusion. Unfortunately it was Dave's. :disgust:

dat phan blows. i agree with everyone on how the asian mother thing was awful, but if you looked at the audience they were laughing much more at Dat than at Dave. Too bad.

I've been watching since the first show and I'm really disappointed that Dave got eliminated last night. He was one of my favorites.

He was really mean to Dat Phan so I don't blame the kid for wanting to go after him, but there's no way he was funnier than Dave last night. The mother's accent thing was funny at the beginning of his set, but the biggest part of it wasn't funny at all. I was cringing way before the end and thought Dave would win for sure. I guess going second was a big advantage and maybe the southern CA crowd wanted to support the local guy. Otherwise, I have no idea what they were thinking.

Dat was terrible. He is energetic, but his material is tired and unfunny. I was shocked that he won. Dave wasn't great, but I thought he was ten times funnier than Dat.

I know Dat won because he did a mathematical proof on his routine and it turned out better than dave's. But Dave was great.
