I wonder what the U.S had to pony up to get this accomplished. Maybe they wanted all the clunkers that were collected in the cash for clunkers program. That would be a win win.

I wonder how pissed his wife is going to be that he is getting the ink for doing her job?

Its certainly not the first time an administration has had someone "unofficially" go negotiate something that the United States doesn't want to "officially" negotiate on.

Congratulations President Clinton. Two less foreign prisoners for North Korea to hold over the world. A small matter compared to a starving population and nuclear weapons, but important nonetheless.

It's not her job, any more than it was Clinton's secretary of stte's job when Carter went.

This is about the former president going, not the secretary of state. There's a reason.

Because when and if the time comes to nuke NK, she would not have been able to wear both hats. ;)

Well Great. The NK news gets to say they got the US President to come over to their country personally and bow down to Kim and plead for forgiveness.
Its great and all these ladies were released but really did we need to give NK this win? And what happens now with Iran as they have 2 more of our people?

Meh, the vast majority of NK is either burning the print news to keep their dwellings warm or don't have electricity to have access to other media. Everyone else knows that its BS propaganda.

So it is a civilian's job to "negotiate" with foreign powers, not the department which is set up for that exact thing?

Jesse Jackson has been involved with hostage/prisoner release, that doesnt mean it is how it is supposed to work.

Pass some of that over here.

A nuke can arrive faster and solve far more problems.

They're not willing to see to the loss of life required to solve the problem. Thus the problem is never solved.

Ok so after we start our final solution for the Palestinians - which ethnic group will the UN disenfranchise to make amends?

I love you guys advocating genocide, seriously or not, as a remedy to grievances caused by attempts to rectify a previous genocide.

I say we give them Texas.

Yep. After we truckload all the republicans in there.
