I wouldn't mess around. I'd call in the exterminator who bakes your hours for hours. Just be sure to check what your electronics can withstand. They should have ways of accommodating electronics that can't withstand 140F.

when i come back from a hotel i usually leave my suitcase in my garage, take all my clothes out, and wash them before bringing them into the house. i visually inspect all of the other crap that i bring back too. no fucking around with this it seems

you need to inspect that stuff before you leave the hotel. once you get home it might be too late already. bed bugs are evil. one very successful shark tank product is related to bed bug detection. http://sharktanksuccess.blogspot.com/2012/10/buggy-beds-makes-shark-tank-history.html

reviews on amazon are horrible though lol

I would move. I won't go to a hotel just for this reason, doesn't seem to matter how nice it is any place can get them. I limit flying to once a year if possible.

These guys are pretty good for keeping down the insect population in our pesticide-free house:

They eat bed bugs too, not that we have any. (cross fingers!)

Heat works really well. many places have bed bug saunas. place everything in and turn up the heat. One thing about heating a whole house, how would that affect sprinklers? Would hate to add water damage to a bed bug infestation.
