I live there, I dont own it. My wife and i are in the process of buying a house. Its her parents house, we cant get an apartment for only 4 months so we live on the lower floor.

Not mooching, we have an 8 month old.

I do not want to do this but her parents are pretty smart when it comes to money so her dad is building us a house on other land he has.
Her parents are great people, more so parents than i had when i was growing up. Otherwise i would have never agreed to staying with them.
They are really the only reason my wife and i will be so well off when i graduate. I never knew how much money i could save without having to pay rent, we do buy everything else for ourselves though.

I would file a report with the Post Office, then politely go to the neighbors house and inform them that you have done so (without pointing figures)...make it sound like a "heads up".
