<< Woohoo! 4300 WUs! That's great. This is our key to success, recruiting long time SETI members to join our team. Let's start sending out the bribes.... >>
Actually, the key to our success is not just recruiting big number crunchers, but people that are new to SETI@Home in general but are enthusiastic about the whole thing. I started crunching SETI@Home with the GUI version, then stopped into the DC Forums here after I had already been running SETI@Home for a month or so. I joined TA, got set up with the CLI version, then assimilated the gaming machines at my friend's video game store. Now I have almost 700 WU's and am still going. Every WU counts from everyone.
Personally I believe that if we do have a key to success it is our races. They keep members involved and nothing encourages people to find new sources of power than competition.
<< I take offense to SoulAss's comments regarding no competion from his previous team. We can't all have dual 1.6 machines.
But more power to Team Anand, I'll toss my pittance in momentarily.

well if certain people would stop trying to cure cancer and donate their cpu cycles that will increase their geek factor to a much higher level they would have more than 1200 w/us
As a little background, FMH and I joined on the same day and were neck and neck for a while.
Get Hoff to stop running UD and join the real party.
