I've got to say, for Canada, NCIX just rocks. Made about 4 orders from them, and twice I got the order the next morning.

Had a DOA drive in one, and after pressing them a bit, they even paid for return shipping and allowed me to cross ship. Friends have said the same thing, if you ask them, they usually pay for RMA shipping. Great service.

Never had the chance to deal with newegg since they won't ship to Canada, but NCIX has been great for me.

So which did you end up getting. The XFX seems to have a nice box, but search on AT forums, there seems to be a lot of complaints too. evga isn't as 'flashy' but seems more reliable.

I know.. wtf!! ZipZoomFly angers me, the karma gods will punish them. Honcho, I ended up buying the XFX on thursday but it won't be here till monday or tuesday, eVGA is supposably more.. reliable, the XFX issues were centered on the heatsink problem Anandtech mentioned, but that has been fixed, so I hold nothing against them, the XFX runs a degree or 2 hotter, but comes with 2 DVI(which i will be using for 2 crts with adapters) so that was the big selling point over the eVGA, and kay kay, NCIX, are charging me 17 bucks, for insurance and shipping, HUGE difference, plus you only play GST, no pst !! 😀 Assuming your from canada.. I had a similiar system to yours before I went intel.

Had zero problems with my XFX 6600GT agp, bought it just shy of two months ago. Fan is louder than my previous card, but then again I'd expect that if I want more performance. Still, it's not overwhealming by any means - after a couple days it's not really a bother for me. I've dealt with loud, I was one of those suckered into believing the awesome power of a 7200rpm thermaltake orb (now I've got a Zalman 1500rpm fan cooling an XP 3000+ quite nicely, and doing a better job than that thermaltake ever could dream of). I am waiting for Zalman's new VGA cooler to hit stores, that'll be fun messing around with my $230 video card. =)

sometimes i envy the US because of free shipping, no taxes. but canada is great. the XFX 6600 GT AGP was $249 CDN at tigerdirect almost a month ago. I didn't buy it, thinking it was the beginning of price drops, now it's gone and i know i missed a good deal.

congrats on ordering the card. now we play the waiting game

Ahh, Kay Kay, well Tigerdirect would of been 250 X 1.15 = 287.50, but add the shipping (i think tiger direct isn't the cheapest).. it doesn't end up being a great deal. ahh.. It should come tomorrow.. I hope.

Luckily I live 10 minutes drive from the Tigerdirect Retail Outlet in Markham, Ontario. That's where i would have picked up the card if it was still $250. I only paid shipping from tigerdirect.ca and it cost $11 to ship a pack of ram 😡

ahh.. damn thieves.. you could ship that ram in an envelope with some bubble wrap. costing a buck fitty, i just did my 3dmark03 graphics card benchmark and i got 182 on my MX4000, hahah i didnt get the card today, so maybe tomorrow.. I'll post the results later.

canadacomputers on college st. toronto has the XFX 6600GT in AGP w/ dual DVI...plan on buying it in the near future to run dual 19" digital LCDs.

Hmm...tough call. Who offers the best support? Does that matter? I had an XFX card that had no problems. They've been around long nough to make good cards I guess. Cuz if you don't, yer not around very long.

Jeff

I have the XFX 6600GT with Dual DVI.

I dont over clock or anything like that since I have a dell and it's working solid.
I have no complaints.

I got my XFX its great, i got a FEW other things so it took a day longer, everything is nice, and great, the only issue I have had so far, is the fact that it came with beige dvi to vga adaptgers not black haha, and thats just the fashion guy in me, great software came with good games Nascar Thunder 2004, Commandos 3, and the Treat, the last one i never heard of sounds interesting though, haha, it came with like 6 other trial games, I benchmarked it in 3DMark03, and i got 7600, then I installed the new ForceWare drivers, and got 8041, wee runs great 🙂
