Yeah, hopefully I get a new one.

I'm trying to think of any things I can look for incase they send me back the same PSU. I know the sleeving on the main ATX power cable was sorta dusty :)

I was planning on getting everything in my new case and get that up and running... Looks like I wont be doing that for a while.

So goes the "fun" of building your own system. Some go well and others........................well, you know the rest of the story. I just built a new system and while the initial build went great, there have been problems with little crap lately like getting the pinout info straight for the Firewire header. Always something.
If it does look like they refurbed and sent back the original, do yourself a favor and run the last test first. Hook it all up outside of the case but with a few more items than the "basic" ones. If it goes well, hook up as much to it as you can while still outside the case. If it works fine, then and only then, install in the case. Something I learned a long time ago was never install a MB until you boot it up outside the case. Saves a lot of time and troubleshooting later and doesn't take much time to do. Let us know how things go.

Interesting thread, I just had a very similar problem tonight as well. Mine turned out to be the switch. When I shorted the pins, the PSU turned on. But still didnt post. Not until I switched the wires previously connected to the reset switch to the power switch. Then it posted fine!

Not sure if I understood, did you put the reset switch wires on the power switch pins? That is pretty interesting. Were the wires misslabled, on the wrong pins or just plain bad switch?

No, it was just a way to tell that the Power switch wires were bad. The wires perform the exact same function. Case mfg is sending new wires for me...

Don't you mean the switch, not the "wires" were bad. Interesting though that the system wouldn't post when you "shorted" the pins on the MB but it did post when you used the reset switch/wires. The switch is just a "momentary" one; just like shorting the pins.

Umm ok, I guess I was confused when you said "When I shorted the pins, the PSU turned on. But still didnt post." in your first post. At any rate, the important thing is that you got it narrowed down quickly and solved. Nice that the mfr is making good on the switch too. Some would not do this. Good luck!
