I send a GF4 Ti4200 back to NewEgg as an RMA on Monday by USPS two-day and now its Friday and NewEgg still didn't get it. I am pretty sure I placed the correct address on but alas skimped out on the tracking/insurance. I live in NYC... Is this an isolated incident?

EDIT: Updated in my post below.

I've sent something from NYC to Long Island using USPS Priority. They took 4 days. It really pissed me off.

USPS is hard to call. I've had one package take 11 days to arrive when it was sent priority, and I've had 34 cent letters from the other coast arrive in two days. Aside from that one package, most of them arrive in 2-4 days regardless of origin.

Oh great, well NewEgg's RMA number lasts 14 days so perhaps it'll make it. Now, whether or not I can last the wait is a different matter :).

Maybe it's related to the security precautions and whatnot? I highly doubt it's bad like that all the time. Call me lucky, but I've never had problems with UPS, FedEx, or the Post Office. Well, USPS broke a laptop once, but I'll let them have the "only human" excuse for that one. Either way, why didn't you show up for "Get Your Game On StarCraft" on Tues?? ;)

Peace

Well, all the Fedex NewEgg shipments came arrived promptly.. and so did Airborne Express with Dell's overnight shipping so I'm thinking that USPS is run by monkeys over here on the east coast.

Either way, why didn't you show up for "Get Your Game On StarCraft" on Tues??
Shhhhhhh!!!! ;) I was busy unpacking and setting my new monitor on the desk and when I looked at the time it was 11:00 PM and so I just went to sleep lol. I was hoping my absence would come away unnoticed, but guess not :).

When's the next game (PM me as well)??

I don't know about you guys but when I write the address out, it takes longer to get there than printing a shipping label out.

USPS was always good for me until recently. All the packages that I've received in the last couple of months have literally taken at least two weeks to arrive. Some of them have taken 3-4 weeks. And yes, this is through Priority mail.

USPS does not offer guaranteed 2 day service. Only DHL, Airborne, FedEx and UPS have guaranteed dates

Uh... ::head hits the top of the desk:: Not looking good. I have waited three weeks now (ordering and getting the parts) and my rig still isn't up because of one component. And I also wrote the address out on the box. Hmmm... ::shakes fist in the air:: ARG!

...and UPS have guaranteed dates
I was reading another thread complaining about UPS (should be within the first 100 threads) today and someone who works in the shipping business chimed in and said nothing is guarenteed and refuted the complainer's argument.

I have 2 places of business. One is my home. Guaranteed day definite delivery is only to a business address in regard to ground stuff. Air stuff sent overnight or second day are guaranteed overnight or second day to ALL addresses, commercial and residential.

The asshat in question was obviously recieving ground at his home.

UPDATE: Yep just got a confirmation E-mail from NewEgg saying that they received my RMA package. Wasn't so bad I guess, only 4 days instead :). Whoohoo! I'll get the replacement on tuesday or wednesday I guess... only 4 or 5 days more to wait!

Priority Mail clearly says on the sign "Avg 2-3 days" - like Andy stated it is NOT guaranteed by any means, especially after 9/11. Considering that Priority Mail is cheaper than UPS Ground in most of the cases I've seen I'd go with USPS anyday over UPS

I think there is a place in like Kentucky where all lost mail ends up and it's put up forsale by someone who comes along and buys like a lot of lost packages all at once. I heard this once but I'm not sure if it's true:confused:

I have had a few packages get lost, but they were insured, so I got my $ back. but it took a while.

I had AMDman12GHz send me a HSF and CPU and I got it next day when he shipped priority. ( paid yesterday, got it this morning ) from across country for $5 not bad at all.

It is. You can bid on "lots" of packages. Or you used to anyway. not sure if they still do it. You can also go to the post office and pick up letters addressed to "God" and "Santa". I usually pickup a bunch of Santa ones and send letters back, but they would not let me last year. :(

i've sent probably 600-700 packages over priority mail over the last 2-3 years and every single one has made it in a decent amount of time (4 days or less).

some of you guys forget that fedex and ups sometimes use usps to do their shipping. if you look inside some usps mailvans you'll see fedex express and ups overnight packages in there also.

I've sent several packages from the UK to the US, it seems to be a bit of a lottery as to how long they take.

Some have got to CA in 5 days - I've had one to CT take 14 days.

Those I've sent tracked, have usually taken 2-3 days before USPS take over.
