update: girlfriend robbed in front of house

Senior member
I posted a thread on how my girlfriend recently got robbed (a lot of cash...)
Here's another update to the story

So, I was hanging outside my girlfriend's house, and the car that
matched the one that drove off with her cash was slowing crusing
around. I decided to follow it (I was able to get the license plate
number written down), but when it saw me, it made a U-turn...and I kept
going my way...trying not to attract notice.

After waiting a couple minutes I decided to go back to another part of
a street where I could see outside of her house and guess what I saw...
the car is stopped outside of the home idle .... I'm waiting for 7
minutes watching the car. No one gets out of the car.

So, I call my girlfriend and her brother to walk outside casually past
the car to see if she can visually confirm that, that was the car.
When they pass the car, the car drives off (doesn't that sound
suspicous??!...it really does to me).

I follow the car again. They really notice me...and again...pull off
to another road quickly and just stop...probably seeing if I will
follow more. I decide that...anything more will probably not be
safe..etc.

We give the information to the Sargeant at the Sheriff's department.
He's saying that we're paraniod and that they don't just run license
plate information. This really pissed me off.
We have a lead and they think we're crazy. How else can they solve a
repeat crime in this local area, if they don't even take what we say
seriously.

Is this protocol? I think the best way to get a case like this solved
is to take action while the facts are fresh?? Any advice to what steps
I should take next?

Here's the Story
============
My girlfried was robbed in front of her house. Apparently the
criminals followed her home. What happened was her tire was slashed
(probably by the
theives)...they were probably waiting for her to pull over to the side
of the road so that they could rob her.

But, she drove home...and they robbed her in front of her house (4k in
cash). They
were following her back from the bank (Washington Mutual).

This type of crime has happened in this area 10 times (number given by
local Sheriff's dept.).

get your spare key and steal it back...

EDIT: nevermind, read the story wrong...I don't think you'll get the money back since its probably spent, so just do 4k worth of damage to their car...

robbed how? gunpoint? knife?

if the cops dont want to help... hmm that's tough. try the (977-?)TIPS line as well as any other anonymous type of thing.

Tell the cop that they better make sure they are wrong because if something happens their department will be liable for not doing a damn thing.

call the police and say a car is swerving around up and down the streets, you think they might be drunk. Then give the license plate

If you haven't seen the orig. thread...here's the summary.

They needed the cash to sent to Vietnam.

<sarcasm>They don't accept checks in the jungle ok</sarcasm>

That doesn't make sense. My wife sends money to the Phillipines and she never uses cash to do it.

1. Find brick
2. Throw brick at said car
3. ......
4. Profit!

But seriously, I'd keep trying to contact the authorities, they should at least be somewhat helpful and not blow you off entirely.

this is seriously the most shentastic thread in a while. The robbers just guessed she'd have 4k in cash on her person? cooooooooome on.

Good point, how did she plan on sending it? Wrapped in a piece of paper in a security envelope?

oh I read it. They slashed her tires on a hunch that she was about to withdraw 4k in cash. Smells like BUllshit

Your GF is carrying around large sums of cash. Someone knows about this, and yet she cannot look at the driver when the car drives away. How does she not notice a slashed tire, until she gets home? She reported this to the police and she doesn't have an officer assigned to her case now?

Western Union

Though the story has far too many holes at this point.
