UPDATE from EZ CD Creator 5.xx to NEW 5.1!

not really seeing how this is a hot deal, i mean personally i think it would be hotter if nero updated their program seeing how ez cd creator is a pos.

I think I'll wait and see what people say. Make sure THIS time they don't delete all your files or turn your computer into a smoking pieco 'O fish.

<< Note: If after the installation of Easy CD Creator in Windows 2000 or Windows XP you receive a ?Blue Screen? on reboot, boot into "Safe Mode" and install the update to Easy CD Creator 5.1 >>

no way im installing this
like another member said, this isnt really a hot deal, updates are always free (unless its a full version number upgrade i.e. 1.x to 2.x)

i guess ill be the guina pig and install this... if you dont hear back from me, ill probably be reinstalling win2k... 😛

edit: no probs installing the update... wouldnt even matter since i use primarily use nero anyways..

I haven't had much luck with E Z CD Creator since my HP 7110i 2X burner was state of the art equipment. I only use Nero and Clone CD now.

Thanks for the heads Up Marill999.

Looks like there is also an Update for the OEM/Basic version that came bundled with my TEAC drive.

i still use it ... well with the win xp extension anyway, i usually dont open the prog itself... works great to add game/prog patches to open cdrs.

I switched to Nero a week ago form Easy CD 5 Platinum !! I really don't know what took me so long !!
Now I know why everyone swear by NERO !!! what an amazing program !!

great program.. and doesnt "Nero Burning Rom" sound soo much cooler than ez cd creator.. 😛

i just have it around as a backup for that very slim instance, when nero, or the other cd progs i have arent behaving.

does anybody know where to turn off the pauses when one is doing a mix cd. driving me crazy. why is it even the default? tia

dont wry about me im jus trying to notify everyone about roxio's new update on their "popular" ez cd creator (not to me)
well... u never kno some ppl might like the prog and u're all scaring them!

EZ CD Creator does have a pretty slick interface...

However, I'm a Nero user.

I can never get it to work with my TDK 16/10/40xA anyway. Always says "No CD writer detected" or something along that line..

Can anyone tell me if they managed to get it working with a TDK cd writer? I've tried everything I could imagine, including deleting registry entries for other burner software...

Oh well.

they have 2 files.. 1 file is the 5.1 update.. the other i believe is a cdrw drive update.. it says after you update to 5.1, and your drive still isnt recognized, to install the other update..

select all the tracks except first one and right click -> properties. change pause from 2 to 0. For some reason it doesn't let u have 0 sec pause for the first track. Didn't try it recently but that was the case in old nero version.

I don't think EZCD 5.1 is a bad program for beginners. It definately has a user friendly interface. It does a good job making audio cd's. Sure it sucks for doing complex burns like some of the game copying and warez burning, but if you don't do that stuff then what is the big deal. It also does fine for just burning simple data or pictures to disks. For people like my parents or my sister EZCD is much easy to learn than Nero.

Most of us Tech-heads will use Nero and CloneCD simply because we know what we are doing and we can take advantage of all of the bells and whistles those programs offer. But to be honest, I wouldn't want my mom or my sister using them because they would be calling me all the time asking how to do things. It's hard to explain those types of things to some people.

Just my thoughts on the matter........
