I find it hilarious that the Dems would want to audit something that may, may show a slight variance in expense, when they can't cut out their own spending habits. Maybe we should be calling for an audit of every piece of legislation they have passed and what the savings would have been if they did the opposite.

"Furthermore, the requests that we have received would involve a significant commitment of resources with a questionable benefit to the public. As a result, in my view, it does not pass a cost-benefit test," said Walker, who was appointed to his post in 1998 by President Clinton.

The DemoRats whined about the Petty Partisan Politics of the RatpublKans during the Clinton Admin (and rightfully so) yet they themselves are doing the exact same thing (maybe not with the same zeal but I'm sure by the time Dubya is out of office they will have it down)

Who cares? Investigate or not, the squeaky clean photo-op has been soiled with scandal.
Now the door is open to criticize him for using the military for political purposes.
Considering this guy is getting us into $1Billion dollar debt a day, whatever that landing cost is a drop in the bucket.

The Democrats just hate that Bush has a big brass set and does what he says he's gonna do. Gore would've let the French push him around. :p

Bwahahahaa

I have never seen a more cowardly president.

-cowered his way out of Veitnam by joining the national gaurd then going AWOL for his sworn duty there.

-Cowered his emotions/problems and feelings behind a fith of Jim Beam and Cocain.

-Cowered from his word on the security councel to seek a vote

-Cowering from NK which can actually mount an offensive and is wayyyyy more flaunting WMD's and terror while bullying a desert turkey shoot like Iraq

He is a bully with an iron fist of selfishness and injustice.

Never forget the Bully is a Coward.

Who cares that Bush landed on Lincoln.. it is reasonable for him to do it.. even if it was for political gain... every thing they do for public consumption is... Don't waste my money investigating this issue when there is much more to be investigated...

Was the Invasion Legal...?
Is the action on going now consistant with UN charter?
Was there an illegal effort in Florida during the election of 2000? See the Commission on Civil Rights regarding Florida election publication... it seems to suggest something was afoot.. link

I hope the liberals have purchased extra paper for thier notebooks, larger hard drives for thier computers, etc. The next 5 years of Bush will carry plenty more to record and whine about.

With Ashcroft as DA I would be hesitent to leave any complaints about Dubya's Admin in text or HTML on my hard drive. The smart money is on deleting it!

HaHa. What card was he in the deck of 55? Jackass of Clubs?

carbonyl - if you have proof of any of that I'd love to see it. Especially the AWOL part. Never charged and honorably discharged from service he could have gone to grad school to avoid.

Now explain this "big brass set" a spoon fed elitist like Bush is supposed to have? I really would like to know so maybe I find something, anything to like about him.

I think he is busy getting ready to join the Bush economic team, so he can tell us how Reaganomics is working, how debt is good, how deficits don't matter, how great our economy is doing.

Come on Dave, if Dubya had been an active member of the Navy back then he would have been Keel Hauled and I bet you would have been the bad boy that would have thrown the blanket over his head. At least Gore was in country and stood a chance of catching a bullet to the head (well a lot better chance than Dubya)

Here you go Ultra

"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public... Nothing but the truth should be spoken about him or any one else. But it is even more important to tell the truth, pleasant or unpleasant, about him than about any one else."

Man I wish we had a President like Teddy now. The closest Politician to Teddy we have now is John McCain! His disdain for the Religious Hypocrites cost him the Republican Nomination and the Americans a competent President

These acts aren't surprising but most aren't necessary. Whether it's an unneeded flight to an aircraft carrier (think Bush) for show or a tour-de force of Africa with a dozen friends (think Hillary), the fact remains the nation flips the bill for their antics.

NK begged us for food, how is that backing down?

What is the "terror" relationship with NK? I can provide you some independent credible links that outline each countries WMD programs.

Why would he seek a security council vote, not one member would dare suggest Saddam was not in material breach of 1441. Besides, he had a few members who had sold arms to Iraq against sanctions they signed and they were trying to protect themselves, pretty embarrasing to find chineese silkworms there, must have been that "privately owned chineese missile manufacturer that the govt. doesn't watch", not too mention they had accepted billions upfront and more promised if they would use their power to help Saddam keep his. They fought for him every step of the way as soon as that money started flowing in (1996), you act as if Bush couldn't reach a consensus with reasonable, honorable people. Should the US bow down to criminals like that? Please, how about someone else even bothers to ask the UN before the only country that does gets criticized again, it is rather hypocritical, especially considering their criminal activities and duplicity. Their actions in subverting sanctions they themselves signed set back the UN far more that US actions in Iraq.

I  when people act surprised that a politician on either side of the fence exploits whatever medium makes him look good. The democrats, if they want to gain power again, have to play a totally different game. They have to stop pointing and screaming, and start planning and scheming. If they want to win some swing voters over, which they'll really need in '04, they had better offer up some damn good solutions real fast. Everywhere I turn lately all I hear about is how the democrats criticize this, the democrats criticize that...If power were in the hands of critics, then Roger Ebert would win an Oscar every year for Best Director. They need to get some unity and get some solutions.

People aren't going to buy into conspiracy theories and photo-op scandals and deflect their vote to whoever, "a blind gay retarded monkey" as I've heard posted on AT before, they want solutions. And as Lieberman put it, not democrat is going to take the WH in '04 who is soft on defence. Whining about military photo-op scandals is not going to set off fireworks in any moderates.

Bring something to the table to solve our economic problems...I know that some democrats are offering these things up and it is still extremely early on, but there has to be some unity on where the democrats stand on things. Some of them are afraid to speak out on things because they don't know how the people will react. They have to lay out some ideas and get organized.

Positive solutions instead of negative criticism. Just a thought.

That's not proof of anything.

I do like the TR quote though.
