The next time you play BioShock and you are connected to Xbox LIVE, you?ll be prompted to accept a title update. I asked 2K and Irrational what it contains, and here is what they told me:

Update improves stability when loading autosaves and overall game stability, corrects audio during title menu loading, and addresses AI behaviors regarding use of health stations.

So there ya go.

I rented Bioshock last Friday. I have not had a chance to play it yet. <sigh>

That stuttering problem was freaking annoying. If it wasn't for the cache clearing workaround I couldn't have finished it. Gonna play through it again and get all the diaries. I went back to get them but apparently some disappear if you don't get them before moving levels.

Darn, is that confirmed? I planned to go back and get them but I was taking a break. I do plan to blow through again on Easy just to save all the Little Sisters, but I planned for that to be more of a speed run than my first time through (which was on Hard).

Wouldn't mind renting it as I really enjoyed the demo, but the BB's around me never have anything decent in stock :(

Well nah it isn't confirmed by 2k games but I have seen it said by others and when I got a guide and went looking....I couldn't find a couple of them anywhere. I gonna replay it and save little sisters anyway.

Anyone know if you have to play from the beginning in hard mode to get the achievement? I reloaded the autosave, switched to hard and beat it but I didn't get credit. I really just want to burn through it on easy and clean up the achievements.

When you go to switch the difficulty level mid-game, doesn't it say something to the effect of "This will affect achievements"? I can't think of any achievement it would affect other than 'Seriously Good at This' which is beating the game on hard.

The main achievements I need are saving the LS, one last Power to the People station, and collect all the diaries.

My BB had to have had somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 copies of Bioshock...which is the most I've ever seen for a non-football game. When I rented it, it had 4 slots and was probably 2-3 copies deep for each slot on the shelf. There were only two copies left when I picked up mine.

Now that you mention it...yeah it did say it would affect achievements. I think I'm at 44/50. Maybe that's enough. I want to trade it in before the value drops.

100 gs for the little sisters is alot though. Plus the game was fun. I'm sure it would be just as fun a second time.

**Spoiler**

I can confirm some diaries do disappear. Well they dont disappear, but they are located in areas you cant go back to if you dont get them the first time through. Ryans office has 3 diaries that have to be nabbed before you "wake up" after killing him. The beginning portion of the game, before you enter the medical bulkhead also has 3 or 4.. Ryan's office were in fairly obvious spots, I had all of them the first time, but I was missing 1 or 2 from the opening stage.

Also, if you want to get all of the weapons upgrades and the Sanders Quarters Achievement, don't kill Sander Cohen right after the "complete Sander's Masterpiece" act.. If you do this, you will miss out on both of them, as he has to be alive to "unlock" his quarters in the apartment later. I missed out my first time through as I killed him right away. It just seemed like the right thing to do ;)

Ah, OK. So I should be able to match my list up to one on gamefaqs and see if I'm missing any that are unrecoverable. It's ashame that one of the locked areas is right in the beginning of the game. It felt like I was pretty thorough going through, but I could have easily skipped some as I was getting used to the game in that part.

I was just at BB during my lunch break and was absolutely shocked that not only did they have a store copy of Bioshock, but that that copy was actually in stock!

I already used my BB free game coupon for this month but I was so excited that I paid the ridiculous rental fee. Of course I will be keeping this game for the 30 days after it's due, so no big deal.
