(UPDATE) DOA motherboard or PICNIC?

Update - Well, I got a different error when I built it outside the case with only one stick of RAM. Still nothing working yet though.

Update 2 - OMFGWTF?! 😕 :Q 😀 It suddenly works in the case now! Still only one stick of RAM though. Further updates as it progresses.

God dammit. After weeks of waiting all the parts for my quasi-new machine have arrived, and it's not working.

Every time I try to install XP, it dies at around the same percentage each time. I've tried different cables, different drives both optical and HD, memtest shows negative, and Knoppix kernel-panics on me. The install media isn't bad - I just finished installing on this machine!

Athlon XP-M 1.2GHz (12x100)
ECS L7VMM3 (VIA KM266)
2x256MB Crucial PC2700 (default timings @ 133)
nVidia Quadro4 NVS 280

/me just wants to play some UT2K4 🙁

You think thats good? One of my friends was having problems ripping mp3 from cd. It would go for about couple of minutes then just sit there with CPU usage pegged out. Tried everything, swapped every component. Finally I sent the board back (MSI). Never had another problem. Go figure.🙂

It works. I don't know WTF I did - because I didn't do anything - but it's working fine now.
