*Update-Deal bad*Kingston 512MB DDR PC2100 CL2.5 for $95 shipped

Ripped from hot-deals.org

GoGoCity

Looks like an auction, but is not (according to hot-deals). Cost is $85 and $10 shipping. Again it's not an auction, it has a fixed price when you actually buy it.

edit: PsychoAndy added this further down

I just called the vendor. The memory you guys are loading up on at $85 plus shipping is KINGSTON PART NUMBER KVR 800 X16 /256
That is a kingston 256 meg stick of RDRAM. 184 pin 2.5 volt.

The one that is 512MB DDR CL2.5 PC2100 is kingston part number KVR-266 X72 C25/ 512ECC or KVR-266 X 4C25 /512

I was quoted $155 for the ECC, $139 for the non-ecc.

Call the vendor, speak to Jen. 626-839-1699

Buyer beware indeed 🙁 Sorry guys, was just passing on the deal from hot-deals. Hopefully not too many folks ordered...

<< i've done business with gogocity a year or so back, theyre good people from my experience. >>

This isn't GoGo actually, just an Auction place?? Hmmmmmm, but why would the invoice say Gogocity. I must stop talking to myself. 🙂

I am trying to create an account and it is asking for payment option, but it only has check, money order and paypal....no Credit Card? Am I doing something wrong? I want to use my Amex Blue on this

You have to send payment to: Charlie Chen

Is this correct? I am really skeptical about this deal. I just send someone funds and hope they ship it out?:Q

He is a PayPal Verified Busness Member whatever that means.

A few questions.

How can you tell if a seller is verified (Paypal) and what their rating is before actually sending them money?
If you've ordered the memory, did you pay sales tax or insurance? The page says that insurance is extra and optional, but doesn't say how much it is.

The "auction" or store front clearly states:
KINGSTON 512MB DDRAM 512MB DDR CL2.5 PC2100
KVR266X64C25/512
KINGSTON 512MB 266mhz DDR@0.01 NR 1 $85.00

Andy,
Why are they advertising it wrong? It says ddr and your getting rdram? Thank god I didnt paypal them the funds. I hate these shaddy deals.

If thats true, that is very unfortunate for GOGOCITY. I just received the confirmation from AuctionWatch Storefront(thats what GOGOCITY is using) for the DDR ram and here is what it says

Dear XXXX XXX

We hope you enjoyed shopping with GOGOCITY.
Please find below your purchase summary and order confirmation.

Purchase Summary:

Item Description Item # Quantity Price

KINGSTON 512MB 266mhz
DDR@0.01 NR 521522739 1 85.00

Item subtotal: 85.00
Sales Tax: 0.00
Shipping and Handling: 10.00
-------------------------------------------------------

Total: 95.00

I already paid with paypal and if they send me RDRAM, I will have to dispute with Paypal, but just in case I printed out the original order page...

<< WTF does it say KINGSTON 512MB 266mhz DDR@0.01 NR

as the item at checkout?

266mhz isnt PC2100 is it?
>>

PC2100 = 266MHz
PC1600 = 200MHz
PC2700 = 333MHz

those are DDR rates of course.
