I'm gonna take this post as a support of the woman'd actions because it's clear and unambiguous that the theif clearly broke part b of that. With this, it's clear that the off-duty officer was in the right.

Not true, if she felt that ANYONE is endanger / threatened then the shooting is justified since she is a law enforcement officer.
 
I would also think that the if the officer IDed herself as the police that would make a difference. If she didnt' say STOP POLICE, weren't there be more trouble for her?

I don't know how it works down there but in Alaska the police have the right to use deadly force if they observe a suspect committing a felony. If she identified her self as a cop, told him to stop and he kept at it then she would have been within her legal means as a law enforcement officer to shoot him.

After any shooting it is normal for the officer involved to be placed on leave or reassigned to administrative duties while an investigation is conducted.

My guess is she will be cleared of any wrong doing.

As for the guy she shot... sux to be him. If he had been home drinking a beer or working on his resume instead of stealing cars it never would have happened. Good riddance.

I'm with Ron and Baked on this one. I hope Dr150 never tries to steal anything from my home in Houston TX, I have a Glock 19C with a strapped on flashlight.

I had my $500 Dave Mirra Haro Bike stolen from my stairways at my duplex apt, it was locked up and mounted to the wall. I left the stairwell open for fedex to deliver some packages while at work. Didn't think these low lifes would have the balls to come into my stairwell and rip the bike off the wall even though it was mounted to a bike rack attached to a stud in the wall and chained up to the wall rack! :|

Then a few weeks later they go around back and steal my little girls Barbie Power Wheels car I bought her for Xmas. :|

She's only 4 and keeps asking where's my car daddy?

Then they break into my neighbors car and steal his radio.

I work hard for my money and don't have all the luxuries in life. Going to someones home and stealing $400 bikes, $400 Xmas gifts, $300 car stereos and breaking ppls windows is NOT ACCEPTABLE! Calling the police will do nothing other than file a report and thats it. I cannot afford to buy a new bike or barbie car everytime some low life loser decides he can go over to my property and take whatever he wants without any consequences. A dumba$$ liberal would wait until the police show up, but by that time the thieves are long gone with the goods and you're left with a police report. 99% of the time the items are not recovered, as police don't have time to waste hunting down ppl who steal Barbie Power Wheels, Expensive BMX Bikes, Car stereos, etc.... they're busy looking for murders, rapists, bank robbers, etc.... This is a big city.

No more free sh1t from my place anymore! FVCK THAT!

These sons of b1tches come back and try stealing more sh1t from me, they won't be so lucky this time.

Thank god I live in Texas.... I don't have to worry about dumba$$e$ like Dr150 protecting the bastards stealing thousands of dollars of my sh1t!

This happened in North Carolina, folks. Major progun and pro self-defense state.

I seem to recall a news story of a shop owner in N.C. killing an unarmed robber a few years ago. The local prosecutor was quoted as saying something along the lines of "The bottom line here is, the good guy won and the bad guy lost. That's the way its supposed to be." No charges were filed.

Of course, there can be and are major blighted urban centers controlled by gun-hating politicians and police chiefs, even in states that overwhelmingly are progun.

Arrington has an extensive criminal history in North Carolina, including several convictions for financial card theft and possession of stolen goods.
