Can I get a HELL YEAH!!!, mine was delivered to my friends house today at 12:55 PM and I'm stuck at work!

Now that some of you have received your S330 and S200, which is better size wise and why?

I HAVE NO INTEREST IN HOW "POCKETABLE" IT IS.

I was enraged earlier because I missed the fedex dude by 20 minutes also. However, when I got home the package was sitting at my door!!! I guess there was no signature required for delivery, weird but I don't care because now I have the camera in my hands.

All in all, the camera rocks!! :D

RossMAN, I'm depending on you for this one. :D

Anybody know where I can get a carrying pouch for it?? The one buy.com is selling is for the S300. Also, what about the external adapter so that I don't have to charge the battery externaly? :)

Woohoo, got my s200 too.
Just had the battery charged and took some pictures.
Very nice and small. I do have one dead pixel.

So many features, I'll be busy this weekend!

Just checked my order status. My S330 has shipped! I "paid" for next-day air so it should be here tomorrow. They gave it to me 2 weeks before I thought they would. So much for July 16th! To all those with S330s on the wait, your time will come.

Got mine today while I was at work. No dead pixels, but even then for you guys with one or two, it's no big deal as that is definately within the spec of what is allowable.

I am somewhat disappointed with the build quality, it doesn't seem as nice as the s110, but I'll have to look at my friend's to compare. The LCD is nice though, I don't think it's grainy at all.

However, I am leery of that slider switch that changes between the play, video and camera mode. It seems like something that could wear out easily. Same thing with the battery door, since you'll have to open it up all the time to charge the battery.

Has anyone noticed any problems with the optical viewfinder's focus?

I was checking the camera out at Target today and noticed that the viewfinder seemed blurry to me. Despite knowing I have 20/20 vision, I asked the clerk to try it out too and he said it was blurry for him as well (and he has 20/20 vision too). I didn't notice any diopter adjuster during my quick check, so I was wondering if this was just a problem with this one camera or a more widespread problem (maybe b/c of the distance btwn your eye and the viewfinder based on the viewfinder's placement).

Anyhow, I know this doesn't affect the actual captured image, but it was a little disconcerting to only be able to see blurry images through the viewfinder of a $300+ camera. . . .

hmmm... i dunno about this one - i felt a little better using the S110... the S200 seems to get REALLY warm - anybody else notice this??? also, my LCD's quite grainy - grainier than the S110 i had at least... i'm kinda wondering if Canon did a rush production or something.

Yeah, now your pockets are going to get HOT! Did you know that high temperature is one of the leading causes of infertility?

I think you can fit a 120mm fan on there, a sunon low-noise fan will do the trick, but it'll hurt like hell when you're trying to clean out the LCD

As stated a little earlier today in this thread... I called Dell and switch my order over to the S200. Now I look at the order page and it tells me that both my S200 order AND my S330 order are SHIPPED! What???!!! Stupid Dell. Maybe they will only charge for one ;-) Ya right! Looks like I'll be able to test both out and pick which I like better! I'll post my personal findings afterward. Then I'll ship the camera that I don't like back to Dell. (I can only hope that I won't like both... I can't afford $630 in digital cameras! :)

just played with the s200!

awesome camera, my only beef with it is that it does get warm, was it like this for the s110?

other than that, it's perfect.

Only thing i needa get used to is how to adjust the settings for the picture taking according to whatever im taking a picture of...i just learned that highest resolution 1600x1200 is not a good idea for up close snap shots...get's so damn bright, while the low resolution turned out perfect...was this common sense?

yea - the s200 does get quite warm... i never really noticed that problem with the S110 either : / another thing i noticed regarding the close-up shots is that the s200 can't seem to focus very well. i do not know what it is, but with the S110, i was able to hold the shutter button half-way down and see text on papers/books pretty clearly (at maybe 5-10inches away). with the S200, it seems to have problems with that (not excluding the grainy LCD) i'm most disappointed about the LCD --- the 1/3 top portion of the LCD screen seems to have a noticeable 'cut' line; i'm not sure how to describe it.

so are you guys saying that the s200 lcd is more grainier than the s110 lcd?

what other flaws did u guys find with the s200? too warm for me and i guess it's sorta tough to take up close shots without it getting all white.

i see that the "grainy" complaints were made in the evening

did you realize that its only grainier at night? use the LCD in the day and you'll see that its much, much brighter and clearrer

Just wondering I've bought a Sony P20 a few days ago (1.3MP with no optical zoom). And I was thinking of selling it and picking up the S330. Is it going to be a big improvment? and I have problems taking pictures, I have to keep the camera steady or the picture will be blury, is that the case with the cannon too? If I order now, do you guys think it will ship right away?

Thanks

David

BTW; could someone private message me the coupon code (with exp date) and 10% discount info? Thanks
David

The LCD on the S200 is no worse than the S110. As LS20 said, it is only grainy when the lighting is low.

The build quality does feel/look different. The lack of brushed/polished stainless steel accents, as the S110 had, makes it look more plastic. But as far as I can tell (by a side to side comparison with the S110), it is built the same other than slightly more rounded corners and other aesthetics.

I love the fact that you can turn the AiAF off. It had a tendency to focus on the wrong image in the viefinder with the S110.

I don't care if a dead pixel or two is "within acceptable limits". One dead pixel is too many for me. Fortunately, there are no dead pixels on mine.

If I have the time, I will be testing the S110 and the S200 in various different conditions side by side. If I get around to it, I will post my observations (no web server to post pics, sorry).

I still think the S110 is superior than then S200. S200 is way too grainy at night and moviemode is completely useless in lowlight conditions now. :|

The LCD of my S200 is no more grainy than my S110, but I do agree that it gets considerably warmer than the S110, but the temporature doesn't bother me much.

Can't say anything about the movie mode because it's totally useless to me.

I have yet to verify that the S200 takes better night and indoor pictures because of better manual controls, which is the major selling point to me. As long as that's true, I consider the upgrade worthwhile.

Dell gave me an additional $50 for canceling my order despite my explicit instruction to the contrary, so I got the S200 at $239. Considering that I sold the S110 on Ebay for $340, I'm not complaining about the upgrade at all. :D
