Honestly any time I've had those feelings they went away when I hung out with some friends. Much easier to do in college, but we just aren't meant for video games.

the first step is to open your eyes and accept the fact that humans have not quite evolved to sit at a desk/computer all day.

it just is not natural at all, but people generally put that aside and think there is something wrong with them. so they take drugs to "correct" the problem, when the real problem is the way they live and work in most cases (some people really do need the drugs I think, but far fewer than the drug companies would have you believe I'm sure)

taking pills will not change your situation, it will only change your mind. Stop and think about that, then figure out which you are better off messing with, your habits or way of living or the physical characteristics of your brain.

choose wisely.

I vote that you explain the situation to your HR rep. Your boss doesn't need to know. HR can take care of your boss for you if he threatens any action.

"ok, we have work to do, lets get it done"

Is he usually like this? If you reveal your anxiety problems to him, he could go a bit easier on you when you take a personal day. Or he could advertise it to the world....
