Update: 7970! New Dell U3011, Need new GPU-GTX680?

I was more inclined to 7970 because it's something different (new architecture) from AMD in a long time, though as I said I'd probably postpone a new vid card purchase for a while. My spare cards (GT 240 and a 6870) are good enough for what I do for now. As for Kepler, I'll wait for GK110. Plus I get to keep the money I've got from selling my old 580.

I haven't tested it to be honest. I've only used the dual link DVI thus far for my connection. nVidia drivers are supposed to support it though. I can always test it out I suppose.

Thanks. I might consider getting a GTX680 if it can support 10bpp.

I had the 7970 initially. Very good card but not quite enough for my 30 incher and that was the whole reason for the upgrade. To Max out that display.

reason I went with the 670's was part cost and post power consumption. Didn't want to get a 1000 watt psu when I could go 850 for $75 less and be just fine.
