Just reporting back that I FINALLY got my 4890. USPS sucks :/

I think I'm in love. Maybe it was that my x1950xt was just that loud and hot but, this thing is a dream compared to my old card.

Temps went down from 60/90C idle/load to about 50/75C.

Fan went from being audible in the kitchen to inaudible at my desk. I know some have said the 4890's could be loud but my only guess is they were using passively cooled cards lol. My x1950xt was at 100% fan speed all the time where as my new card never tops 65%

Ok and for my few games.

Battlefield 2 @ 1680x1050 went from ~40 FPS to ~100 FPS with 0xAA for the 1950 and 8xaa with the 4890.

Starcraft 2 @ 1680x1050 went from ~25 FPS and frequent dips with medium/low settings to ~50 FPS with no dips with all ULTRA settings :D :D

Bad Company 2 @1680x1050 went from completely unplayable at almost any setting to ~40 FPS medium/high settings.

Couldn't be happier with my purchase!

you need to upgrade more often. I bought my x1950xt 256 mb in mid 2007, so about 3 years ago. Since then I've had 3870, 4850, and now gtx 260. after selling each card and buying the new one, I've spent around $200 total on the 3 upgrades. Now that prices are back in the stratosphere I think it will be a while before I can pull this same trick ;)
