Nothing meaningful will ever be done. Zip. If any of Sandy Hook/Vegas/Parkland couldn't move the needle, I can't see anything doing it.

Makes sense when you've got 30-40% of the population fighting wars against enemies that don't even fucking exist (CRT and drag queens) while this shit continues to pile up.

I think things will change but it won't be until someone like the student who has been through 2 mass shootings is in political power to do something. So basically, it won't happen for a long long time.
I was thinking about this last night. My guess is that will probably take another 30-40 years for that group to hit "critical mass" in terms of the number of legislators from their generation. Oof.

I want to congratulate Shannon Watts. Thanks to Republicans she is the first person to survive more than one school mass shooting.

Correction: student is Jackie Matthews. Shannon made the tweet

He won’t be the last. We’ve reached the point where this is so common his story will not be unique for long

But if it's hopeless that's perfect. Gun lovers get a sense of savety that creeping restrictions won't take their defense weapons or sporting guns and the anti gun people get to complain and blame continued gun deaths on guns nobody will control. In this way two camps get to endlessly face off against each other, assuring the real issue, the violence created by American culture is never addressed.

Everybody gets to blame someone else and never face how deeply ill each of us really is, full of the hate that pulls triggers.

All that is needed is is some trigger so validly self justifying as to create a fresh moral rationalization that demands someone else needs to die so badly that it releases us from the inhibitions of fear. We are moral creatures after all so we only kill those who deserve it.

Sad how we’ve gotten to the point if someone shot up a daycare and killed 20 babies and toddlers, nothing would get done

I thought that Hogg kid survived one in Florida and one in California. Wasn't that why the conspiracy nutters were calling him a crisis actor?

Yes they did. MTG stalked him on the streets of DC

Any of you defenders of the right want to explain that?

Holy crap I forgot she called for the execution of Pres Obama. Why wasn't she immediately arrested by the FBI? There's your white privilege. Righties have the nerve bitching about Ilhan Omar

Until its a prep school or a harvard or something, a place where senators kids are attending, nothing will happen. They (the GOP) just don't care.
