bummer dude

i told my wife when i was "promised" a promotion. big mistake. that was 2 years ago and it never happened/won't happen

for months she kept asking when i was getting my promotion, next time, if there ever is a next time, i'll tell her AFTER my paycheck goes up. or maybe i'll even wait so i can spend the extra myself for a couple months

good luck NN

Congrats! Your position sounds exactly like what I do, but I don't get paid too much. Sweet upgrade though, and you'll probably get the occasional chance to code as you mentioned.

I'm in line for a relatively large sum this summer too ... but I'm thinking about 10% maybe ... if not, I'm going to have to consider going elsewhere.

Congrats, I have my airfare ticket, so let's celebrate :wine::beer::wine::beer:

Best regards and congrats again and again 🙂

woot! congrats!

so when's the party? 🙂

Tonight after work. I live in rural Tennessee, so bring your own goat.
I'm in Chattanooga....how far do I have to drive my tractor?

I'm near Johnson City. You had better get on the road if you want to make it in time for the strippers.

UPDATE 3/6/2006:
The job, its mine.... ITS MINE!!!!! Even though I didn't meet the qualifications for the position, my department head apparently said a really good word in my favor. I got the job on my own merit. This is a really good win. Who says hard work doesn't pay off? And to top it off, the pay increase was waaaay more than I was expecting.

Party at my house after work - everyone here is invited.

Congrats! :wine:

Joy.. rapture.. and just so you know, 9/10 who do work their ass off probably don't get much to show for it at the job they work at. So in response to your most recent update, *I* say hard work doesn't pay off, but in your case you had a higher-up put in a good word for you and got the job even though you were underqualified, compounding the fundemental truth that it's not what you know, it's who you know. Congrats to you though.

awesome!! it's good to see someone get what they deserve after working their asses off. congrats!!
