Troll harder.
Such eloquence.
If I'm trolling you should report me.
Me thinks you just can't stand that Apple did something right.

Nah, I'm too busy enjoying not being chained to a proprietary ecosystem. If other people like it, then whatever. You'd have to pay me to get me to switch to Apple.
We all have 3.5mm jacks too.
We just also have 30 pin connectors for line out when needed.
Choice on Android = Good
Choice on iDevices = Apple trying to grab more money out of your pocket.
DUH! 😛
I don't see any advantage to using micro-USB. I hate that port, as it's seems so flimsy.
BTW, if this port is magnetic like rumours claim, that would rock.

Cell phone and Portable Devices have become so thin that the current Mini-USB does not fit well within the
constraints of future designs. Additional requirements for a more rugged connector that will have durability
past 10,000 cycles and still meet the USB 2.0 specification for mechanical and electrical performance was
also a consideration. The Mini-USB could not be modified and remain backward compatible to the existing
connector as defined in the USB OTG specification.
Hummmm nobody has mentioned that when Apple released their "nothing but a money grab customer screwing" 30 pin connector Micro USB wasn't even around yet. And every cell phone manufacture had their own cable. Hell Motorola had 2, one for regular cell phones and one for phones on Nextel. So even if Micro USB was able to do everything Apple's cable can (which it can't) it would still be a moot point as there was no Micro USB a decade ago. So what other options exactly did Apple have? Apple has stuck with this connector for a decade. In the time I've gone threw proprietary -> Mini USB -> Micro USB. Oh, and with my BB Pearl I had to buy a special Micro USB cable because the one I had from my Sanyo phone would give me a "not sufficent power to charge this device" error when I plugged it in. And my Galaxy Note would go into data mode even when it was plugged to the wall because apparently the HTC cable's different, uhhh I take it Micro-USB isn't as standard as they make it out to be.
LOL, at all of you who think that the dock connector sounds different than the 3.5mm connector.

3.5mm jack = audio out.
Dock connector = line out.
Big, big difference.

Um, digital signal? I dont think so. Isnt it basically a line-level output? IE, really low volume so an external amp can be connected without distortion?Well there is a big difference, with the headphone output you're going through the internal DAC to the internal headphone amp. The dock connector streams out the digital signal bypassing the internal DAC and headphone amp. If you route it to a good external DAC and amp you get much better audio then connecting the headphone output.
Apparently it was important enough for you to bump the thread after it's been lying dormant for 7 hours.I don't recall this thread being about anybody switching to Apple?
