I wouldn't call i5 or i7 old and obsolete by today's standards. Sandy Bridge is going to be Intel getting lazy until Haswell.
How about X58?
After the muscled out ATi, Nvidia, and VIA for chipset competition by threatening litigation they have sat completely on their hands.
Without a doubt they have directly limited consumer choice and enforced a monopoly on chipsets.
Lets not forget the whole Atom / Ion fiasco either. They are monopolizing that platform as well.
