Is it too early to start talking about the upcoming November elections?

This is the Congressional midterm election, where House and Senate seats are up for grab. Obama, is safe. He can only be impeached.

The House of Representatives, and Senate, are at play.

I think the Judiciary is lost, as Obama will get to appoint new Supreme Court Justices as they retire in the next two years.

Who will you be voting for, and why?

I live in a Democratic stronghold, so it doesn't matter who I vote for. But I'm so excited at the prospect of the House wasting its time and our money impeaching the President for nothing but partisan bullshit. Whee...

I still remember (where I was) the day Clinton made it through his impeachment.

You are right. He was impeached.

Do you want me to say he was found innocent?

Should be pretty interesting with the Repubs controlling both House and Senate if the political winds don't shift.

I can already see Obama warming up his veto stamping arm. Might even set a record or two.

Payback of sorts for the resolute obstruction Obama received from the Repubs for the last six years.

I just wasn't clear about what you were saying. Lots of people don't think he was impeached, and a lot of those same folks think Nixon was.

My prediction.

Talking heads will tell us how this is a once in a lifetime election. A defining election. Blah blah blah.

My prediction, we'll start hearing from cable news about the importance of the 2016 elections within 24 hours of the end of the 2014 elections.

Remains to be seen if the Rs can pull off the senate. If they can't, there really won't be much change from what we have currently. And I seriously doubt that the house will take up impeachment. I doubt that even 'the stupid party' is that stupid. As for SCOTUS, who knows? Even the older libs on the court don't seem to be in a big rush to retire at present.

I can't wait for the attack ads! All any politician has to do is tell the truth about another, and it's pretty much a damning attack ad...never mind that it's the truth.

But never you mind all that. Your candidate is the one that "still cares" about the little guy, you know, between their handouts from big money interests.

I wasn't planning on voting since, but apparently, we got two Democrats running in our district due to primary system change here in CA.
I am voting for the actual Democrat of the two, and not the Corporatist endorsed by the Chamber of Commerce. There are more than enough of those in Congress. He is also endorsed by several of the executives who illegally conspired to suppress employee wages through collusion. I guess they figured why break the law if you can buy it.

Biden is an idiot of epic proportions. Are you trying to give him a run for his money?

Sure, for a Democrat he's an idiot. Which makes him top end of intelligence for Republicans. Now if you're going to go even further you've got Tea Party which isn't really fully Republican, they're like the super low end of the intelligence scale amongst even Republicans. Like, if you took a Republican, beat him in the skull with a crowbar, then gave him a lobotomy you'd have like the smartest members of the Tea Party. And then you have true liberals, who don't really have a party in the US but are often forced to vote Democrat due to lack of a better option. And that's where you have the intellectual elite (ever notice how the right bitches about college professors being too liberal, that's what happens when you're smarter than everyone else).

My, my you're quite the bigot but I think I've already called you out as that at least once before. Oh, and wipe the spittle off your monitor.

What rights do 'true liberals' want to take away? I'm trying to get a handle on whether true liberals are Progressives or out and out Marxists. Maybe just a brief outline of the positions of true liberals would help. Would they be the ones doing the crowbar work?

my dream election results would involve the Democrats keeping the Senate, taking the house, while simultaneously, all members of the leadership in both parties are lost in a "tragic" plane disappearance... but I don't see any of that happening.

probably won't bother voting, I don't think any of my state/local races are competitive.

So please tell me...is it safe to assume that you represent the intellectual elite among us?
