Not such a hot deal. Losing weight only works if you make an effort to do so, regardless of any supplements you take.

The agreement provides benefits to people who can establish, by affidavit or proof of purchase, that they bought Shape Up! supplements on or before July 1, 2006.

Apparently someone didn't read or click on anything

Not if the supplement is benzadrine.

Really, so the key then is effort, let me write that down.

Sure diet pills may work - but they aren't healthy. If you don't change your eating habits once you stop, the weight will be back within a month. The *only* tried-and-true method of losing weight and keeping it off is to reduce intake of fats/sweets/"empty" calories AND to increase exercise. That way you shrink your adipose cells as well as increase your basal metabolism - you lose fat and gain muscle.

Haven't been able to get back to my ideal weight with dieting only because I eat a lot, and not necessarily healthy stuff (college life...) but now that I'm doing the above and adding a daily run in the early mornings - I feel better and I'm losing about a pound a week. That'll put me back at my prime weight (4 years ago, 120 lbs) by Christmas :)

Thing is you would just spend the $50 on snacks, so best to stay away and exercise. AFAIK there is NO tried and true long term generally successfull method of weight loss except illness or death.

So, if you consume less calories than your body burns, you won't lose weight?

You can't really argue that you won't.

I find it funny that Dr. Phil of all people would put his name on a diet pill. Just shows that he's a hack out for money.

But on the subject of the deal... THIS ISN'T A DEAL ON THE PILLS IT'S A LAWSUIT SETTLEMENT. FFS DIDN'T YOU PEOPLE EVEN READ THE WHOLE THREAD TITLE?

I really hope you're a girl because no guy (unless he's 5') should ever aim to be 120 pounds. ever.

Actually most of us can read. The fact is every maker of diet pills could be sued because their product didn't work for someone. The ingredients in Dr. Phil's pills may possibly have helped some people lose weight, but it goes back to the person trying to lose weight making an effort to do so. Caveat emptor. Buying diet pills is a lot like buying certain enlargement pills. If you're stupid enough to buy them in the first place, why complain or sue when they don't work for you. Additionally Dr. Phil was stupid to put his name on anything like this and what exactly is it that makes a class action lawsuit a Hot Deal? A deal of sorts for anyone trying to recoup some money spent, but more likely an opportunity for a lot of people to commit fraud and get some money from Dr. Phil.

Since when is Dr. Phil fat? Do you even know who he is?

And even if he was, just because he's fat doesn't mean he doesn't know how to construct a good weight loss plan...all that is is knowledge, not experience.

Your excess of superior communication skills obviously baffles my childish mind, maybe I should just let you geniouses ramble on and just read other threads that use small words in big fonts with pretty pictures.

Dr. Phil is the guy who Oprah started into the business right? Interesting that he sells pills to help you loose the weight you gain by sitting on the couch rotting your brain watching his mindless one step abopve Jerry Springer drivel while pounding a tub of ice cream ect....

Well, the funny thing is that his attitude is "There's a problem here, you have no one to blame but yourself, take responsibility, and do something about it!" yet a diet pill says to me "You're hoping for some miracle cure to your own fat ass-edness because you're too stupid to realize that there's a problem with your diet."

Heroin is the best diet drug around. You should see it in action- eventually the users can wither away to... nothing.
