Unusual way to stop a dog attack..

Anyone heard that if you are being attacked by a dog and nothing else works that sticking your finger up it's butt will usually confuse the dog long enough for you to get away? This was in Maxim awhile back....

uh... i think if you stick your finger up ANYTHING's butt it will confuse long enough to get away..... plus your finger would smell GROSS

Tell you what... if I had to, I'd do it. I'd rather wash my finger off than have my arm sewed back on.....

Makes sense! Imagine you are a dog attacking someone. Suddenly they shove their finger in your butt. Wouldn't you stop to try and figure out what the hell just happened?

I think after they get over the confusion they probably pity you. I'd pity someone if their finger smelled like ass.

ive been attacked by a few dogs before....... as long as it isnt a pitbull its doesnt completely suck... obviously it hurts but not enough to stick my finger up the dogs butt

I think if you're being attacked by a dog or wolf, you're supposed to stick your arm down their throat. It clamps their jaws open, and you can do some major internal damage. Never heard anything about sticking your finger up its ass, though. Wierd.

goodluck getting to it. My advice would be to use your left forearm (if right handed) almost as bait. Pulling away from it will be useless and is the automatic response, so you have to get in close and pound at it with your other hand. Unlike a cat, although a dog has claws enough to scratch you, they won't be ripping your inards out, so the mouth is the only real threat. If you could get it in a choke that would be idea but you'd have to get in really close because they could probably easily slip out of it.

Basically though dogs are strong but stupid, so I imagine with some training most people could defend themselves against most dogs.
