Unstable System

Hey,

I recently bought a Radeon 9800 pro and a MSI KT6V-LSR, the one with the KT600 chipset in it. I also had an Athlon 2500+ / 333mhz bus and DDR333 Corsair memory already. I put the system together and tried playing FarCry, it ran choppy. I realized the FSB speed was set to 100mhz, so then I set it to 166mhz since thats what the DDR memory called for to run at full speed. At this speed, the game no longer runs choppy, but it crashes within 5-10minutes of gameplay. I don't know, maybe I'm setting something wrong. Does anyone have any suggestions on what it could possibly be?

I. When you added the new mobo, did you reformat ur existing HD and reinstall, or at least remove old chipset drivers and install new ones?

2. If you didn't reformat, and if you were previously using an nVidia vid card did you run DriverCleaner or Driver Detonator proggies to remove old nvidia driver fragments?

3. Have you updated the drivers which came on the installation cd's (often older ones) with newer versions on the makers' website (both mobo and graphics card)?

4. Is it a good brand psu? The extra juice needed for the 9800pro may be too much for it to handle.
