I just bought an Fujitsu Siemens AmiloM 4438G and the Siemens Gigaset SE551 router. Since I have stationary computer as router, I don't use the WAN port on the router, and also disabled the DHCP server.

The problem I have is that sometimes when I boot up my Laptop, I have no access to the network. Looking at the network status everything looks OK; I have got an IP from the router-computer (thru the SE551), but its all dead. Can't ping the router-computer/gateway or the SE551. After a reboot it usually works. This happens sometimes, and just give me that annoying "unstable" feeling. I'm thinking about throwing out this Siemens router and get a D-Link or 3Com instead. Or do you guys have any ideas? Could it be my Laptop that has buggy drivers for its wireless NIC? Im using the drivers which came on the Fujitsusiemens install CD. (NIC is "Intel pro/Wireless 2200BG")
I'm out of ideas...

Thanks for any help and/or ideas.

Seems the drivers for the WLAN in the Laptop that Fujitsusiemens ships with it (same version on their homeage) was very old. Downloading and installing the latest drivers directly from Intels site seem to have solved the problem.

Needless to say, after discovering this I tracked down the drivers from the vendors own pages, for all the devices in the laptop. (Most of the drivers were over a year old).
