I just did a format reinstall of Windows XP today... I hade the worst time of my life... When I booted on the CD, it did copy the files on the HD and did restart after...
But when the setup window appeared, an error always appeared saying that a component couldn't be found and installed, and that this component was required by Windows XP... I tryed a couple of times, on did go farther than the keyboard setup but! after a while trying to copy files , it asked for files saying that they we're not available. I hit the Browse button.. NO CD-Rom!!!! Windows wasn't detecting it!
So what I did was copy the I386 folder on my computer and then restart the installed. It did work. And now my windows is running and it detects my CD-Rom wich is running just great....
