OK, here is the deal with Unreal (original) on my Voodoo 3.
Glide: no gamma correction so it is too dark. The LOD bias in the game is set at -1.5 so the textures are sharp.
Direct 3D: gamma correction works so it is nice and bright. However there is no LOD bias setting in the game and the LOD bias setting in control panel is ignored, so the textures are blurry.
Basically I have to chose between sharp and dark or bright and blurry. Is this an issue with the game or with 3dfx's crappy drivers?
My system specs:
Celeron 500
Gigabyte BX 2000+ Mobo
192 MB PC 133 SDRAM
3dfx Voodoo 3 2000 PCI
Beta driver version 1.05.02
Unreal 226
